Hi,
I have a special problem with a repair project...I wanted to repair a broken Lisa 2/5 motherboard. It was an victim of battery leakage...cleaned everything and fixed the broken traces on the board. I did the best/simple way: wirework - until now, it always worked like a charm.
I just...
Well my ProFile had the typical issues with an corrupt filesystem. I mean the real bad corruption. If you power on, it was trying to check the filesystem and sectors. I had a lot of defective software sectors so the stepper always repeated it's movements and after completing the self diagnostics...
Yeah, in fact these tricks could help but on the other sider it's very risky... the board isn't designed for this kind of direct power input - it's like you put on a needle to a fast /aleady spinning or running vynil record. it may work but could cause damage to the system. I would go with the...
Yeah that was my first thought and attempt to try ;) I used another language Disk and it won't work because the system looks for the Name of the Disks and Files in localized language. I also tried an Quadra and LC InstallMeFirst Disk - it will boot up and therefore install but won't copy the...
Hi,
well - this is a good page but that would be only MAC OS 7.1 in retail ..so usable for every Macintosh that supports it - sometimes with enabler.
These "InstallMeFirst" Disks provide just that Systemenabler before/while installing MAC OS. With a retail OS Disk I can't install the System...
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the correct section...but I'm hardly looking for a working german Version of the Mac OS 7.1 - Spezial Installation (InstallMeFirst Disk - or Dc42 Image.
My physical Disk is broken; physically, no way to read or write on it. I already swapped the magnetic inlay/inner...
Hi,
So you did recap nearly everything on the Analogueboard? What about the Mainboard itself? The usual suspects - 98% for my experience - are these SMD caps on the Mainboard; they start leaking. Visible an invisible. They cause that behavior too.
I did a recap of all of them - 9 in total? -...
Hmm that's a worth try... the drive itself looks just fine and reads/writes disks without any problems..just the eject is broken/malfunction. For now, I just put it in "the less important projects to finish" Box ;)
Finally I'm very close to the finish line ;)
Replaced the internal SCSI Drive with an Apple LC 250MB Drive, switched the broken internal floppy (won't eject the disks anymore) with an spare drive out of an defective PowerMac 600 and disconnect that nasty broken internal Speaker - I will try...
Well, finally got my bad 5MB ProFile Drive low level formatted using that BLU utility :) since my Apple III isn't working properly I gave that Utility a try and it worked like a charme right from the start. Unfortunately you still need that LLF ROM/Piggyback and Jumper - but it works very well...
So, back @ home again and in the next days I will start my LLF Project on these ProFile drives..already burnt my EPROM and put it on the Piggyback ;)
I will report here too if someone is interested ;) anyway I will upload it onto my YT channel too ...
Haha ok, if you say so, I don't envy with your job ;p
Like I said - at the end I got everything managed the way I wanted to :)
To be true, that flattened elko/ceramic elko things are much more pain to replace.
Ok, the only things that won't work on this CC are the internal HDD (System won't...
Oh thx :) now I feel blushed xD
I will put my detailed HowTo online the next days ;)
These small pads - a pain in the **s to work with xD but not impossible.
Hey,
Yesterday I Just did my first SMD recap ever..with great success :D
Recently I got an beautiful CC - sadly in non working condition :-/
First look told me instantly that the caps were gone. Leakage all over the board...
Well..not much to do that evening so I started my first Mac...
Hey falen5,
I love that LISA OS :) just so simple as is and THATS the way to use a LISA - but to be true - MacOS runs so smooth on the LISA. Sometimes I just grab my MacWorks Disks and let the Mac live on that machine - playing MacOS Games is fun on the LISA. Since I only installed anfresh...
Hey there and I'm happy for yourvgreat success on that beautiful old lady :D
Bad caps and leaking time bombs (yes they are!) Always the same with our beloved treasures :-/
That was the first thing/routine done as I received my LISA (and several other computers) - an optical check for any...
Yep..that's a typical thing with these Pads..nearly the same effect with Commodore SX64 Keyboards ;) never try to fix just one single key..fix them all in one job. Well, I better don't open my keyboard until the first key stops working [8D]
