Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
I think it depends on your revision. I had a revision C and mine matched the caps listed https://amigaofrochester.com/recap-services/capacitor-list/ I can't speak on other board revisions but I do believe they are almost the same. There is also a photo here...
Awesome! Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it! That solved my issue. I can just combine the grounds and them split them back out on both sides so there are no pins missing from the idc connector. I appreciate the input big time!
No worries at all. I appreciate the help. Your comment got me wondering, maybe I can combine 2 of the ground signals going into the db19 connector, and then split that back out to 2 ground pins so that all 20 of the pins will be connected on both sides of the extension.
What I am attempting to do isn't a finished product. I'm re-wiring a DB19 cable that has an IDC connector at one end and a DB19 connector at the other end.
I don't think I probably explained this very well. I'd have to post some photos when I have a moment. This isn't any sort of product I...
So, theoretically, for connecting the FloppyEMU to a Macintosh, if pin 9 on the IDC20 connector / ribbon cable was not connected, the FloppyEMU would still work without issue?
Looking for some help with the pinout of the IDC20 connector on the FloppyEMU / Macintosh LC575. I am setting up a FlippyFloppy from the magical Kay Koba, but I want to use a DB19 connector instead of the IDC20 cable. This is purely for aesthetic, and completely form over function. I'll be...
Thanks for the response. I was thinking the same thing. I'll discharge the CRT, and I'm going to discharge the large 400V 560uf cap, and then probably give it about a week or so to sit before I start work on it.
I'm planning on recapping my iMac G3 analog board and neck board. I know I have to discharge the CRT, but I thought I read somewhere that there may be charges stored elsewhere that need to be discharged. Is there anything to be aware of besides discharging the tube on an iMac G3 DV? I can't find...
The power regulation board that is a part of the logic board on the iMac G3 has a few Teapo branded capacitors that are the same values but one has a typical brown case, while the other has a green and gold case. The only difference I can find is the gold and green is marked SC105 C and the...
I am replacing the caps on my G3 DV logic board and having some trouble identifying a cap. I think it's 47uf 25V, but I'm having some trouble confirming that. Still learning about identifying caps. The cap's markings show E2 470E UD. Just a google search for that string pulls up the data sheet...
Thank you for the reply and the help, here are some photos, I applied solder mask to the traces that I cut, but I can remove that solder masks and take new photos that would help, please let me know. Thank you.
I have no J78 jumper as you can see in the photo, so in order to isolate pine 20, I...
I suspected that possibly the jumper mod on the logic board was done which was maybe causing the issue and causing the 512x384@60Hz to show as an option, but it doesn't appear that the mod was done. There is a resistor on R116, and no resistor on R109 or on R110. I've attached a photo of the...
I have a mystic color classic I purchased from another person. I was told no hardware modifications were done, and ResEdit was used to enable the LC575 board to work with the CC. I followed the VGA mod outlined on powerpc.org. I did both the sense line mod and the horizontal deflection mod, and...
On second check maybe the sense lines are not correctly done because I have a revision D board. I did follow the instructions exactly on powercc.org, which match any other instructions that are for the "new sense lining procedure" but my resolution options are as shown in the attached photo. I'm...
I just went and changed the jumper back to 8-12 and again, thick black bars. With the 80V mod (jumper 8-10), i was able to properly adjust the screen to the full width and height with good geometry. This is the widest i can adjust the screen without blowing out the geometry. I can't make any...
I don't believe I mixed anything up, but maybe I'm not understanding correctly. I believe I correctly modified the sense lines, otherwise I wouldn't have the options for 640x480 and 800x600. You don't need to do the horizontal deflection part of the mod to enable those resolutions, you only need...
So i got it to work! I fixed the issue by changing the jumper from pins 7-12 to pins 7-10, which is the same component but there are different components in between, so I guess that was the fix. I used the guide found at https://www.micromac.com/instructions/CC_Video_upgrade/index.html for the...
this seems to be about the best I can adjust it. The geometry isn't great, which I can live with, but the black bars are bothersome. It seems like the horizontal deflection voltage change didnt take looking at how thick the black bars are. Any wider and the PB is blown out and the image is...
