As I recall, There’s a lot of ram slot traces on one of the internal layers of the PCB that run directly under the battery area, which may have been damaged even by a light leak, so might be a good idea to tone those out too.
Out of curiosity, have you tried using the full 040 card from your 520 in the 550? See I have a 540 and a 550 prototype which has a 167mhz 603e upgrade card in it, but there’s no sound. It doesn’t work at all with my 540’s daughter card. Me and @croissantking have discussed this and we...
Does this help?

I’m not familiar enough with all the fuses on the IIci board, but checking the voltages on the above links pins should help rule that out as a cause.
I just want to clarify... do you mean you checked the voltages for the battery.. or the PSU voltages getting to the relevant pins on the nubus slots themselves? The reason I ask is I recently had an issue with a IIcx where certain things weren't getting power, and I think that also included the...
Nor do I, but the troubleshooter in me likes to cover all the bases, especially for something simple to try!
If it’s working with another board, my gut instinct is an issue with the onboard memory. Or, possibly a chipset that’s only activated when part of the system calls on it during...
Tried an OS other than 9.1? Maybe 8.x? I mean.. it shouldn’t make any difference.. but it could potentially highlight an area of interest depending on the outcome?
Well, this is something.. I was dumping stuff at the local recycling centre and there were some iMacs. I was only able to grab one (you’re not supposed to take anything and the staff are very protective of it) so I chose the Flower Power, even although it was missing the bottom case.. the...
Have you confirmed the drive itself is working correctly? Maybe swap in the 800k drive from the Plus temporarily (make sure to use the same ribbon cable from the plus if you do this)?
I really shouldn’t be spending money on anything at the moment, but this popped up for just £52 and I couldn’t resist. I’ve always had a deep love for the Marathon games, and I hate myself for binning my old original triangular boxed copies of Marathons 1, 2, and ∞. And this even has the three...
Personally my favoured option is just having a long extension wire coming out the back of a spare compact Mac that was in rough exterior shape, means everything is in one easily transportable box. I have one made from an old Mac Plus, a Classic II, and a SE.
