Hi,
I am trying to revive my old SE/30 after capacitor goo disaster, which took its graphics and sound. It was cleaned and recapped.
Had to replace UE8 and the display was brought back, now I want to do something with a sound. Initially it used to give me a startup sound, then the sound...
thank you for this suggestion techknight, strangely fuse seems to be ok. Gave this Plus a ride to a repair shop, maybe they will find the cause.
Will keep this topic updated.
hi guys,
I got this Macintosh Plus with non bleeder type FBT. Completely dead, no signs of life..NADA.
It had a nasty battery spillage which got outside its compartment and corroded metal frames, luckilyy no visible damage to the logic board.
That battery goo affected analog board as well...
it's back again, random slowndowns, simasimac stripes, non working sound despite new caps! Will try to wash mobo instead of cleaning with IPA, then will try again.
Hi, I can hear really weird SE/30 sound, like radio interference noise, it corresponds with clicking mouse button, but can also be heard as independent noise without any use of input device. What do you think it is? Motherboard has SMD caps replaced.
Anyone tried upgrading their 1 MB Dove MacSnap to the fullest (2 MB)? Do you thinks it's possible to do?
Found interesting piece of advice from 1987... link

the first time they tolled me that all I had to do was:

here's update. You need to self-extract to hard disk instead of floppy, save it as "disk1", then run Disc Copy 4.2, open image (disk1) and copy it to floppy. Works great!
Hi, I am clueless what's wrong. I am trying to create System 6.0.8 floppies using my 4 MB Plus with external hard disk running System 6.0.3.
I did transfer 4 self-extracting files (SSW System 6.0.8 disk 1-4. sea 800k version), they worked perfectly with my Classic II, which no longer works...
do you have an access do Windows PC ? I used TransMac to copy self extracting archives (.bin?) to floppy and funny thing is they were visible as executable files on Mac side.
The only problem might be 800k limit.
ok not really freezing... as it stops booting from hard disk I can insert floppy and it's trying to read it, but no success.
Another thing is it correctly ejects non system floppy and I can manually eject any floppy with mouse button pressed, so I guess IWM chip is ok?
