Hi
In order to copy some files I tried to connect my SE/30's SCSI hdd (with System 7.0.1. or 7.1 dont remember) to Macintosh Plus using external case. I hear the drive spinning, but it doesnt show in Finder...just nothing!
Some clues:
- I did not have a standard Centronics style SCSI...
Well yeah the price seems to be relative. An equivalent of 10-20 EUR is a typical price for recapping old computers (like Amiga/Macintosh) in my country. I am talking about small repair shops and forum users doing it in their spare time.
100-150 EUR for recapping SE/30 is rip off. Last time I paid 10 EUR in my local repair shop, a few times done it myself :)
BTW I had the same symptom in one of my SE/30s and had to run a wire underneath the motherboard. 5 minute job. Need to find a photo.
Hi,
I got this perfectly working 9.1 GB scsi hard disk that came with 68-50 pin adapter, used to work fine in Amiga 2000, which is ancient computer. Is there any chance I could get it working with SE/30 or Plus? Anyone tried that before? I am okay with using max 2 GB partition in old systems. ...
ok guys thanks for info.
It seems I need to cut my 50 pin plastic connector to 26 pins = 2 rows od 13 (although 25 pins will be used) on MacDove side. Now that's what I've been looking for:

hey guys, I can buy an older SCSI2SD with v4.2 printed on the board for $40. However you dont get to see the old version much often I am curious if it's upgradable to firmware v4.7?
I couldnt find any direct answer online.
ok here's my plan what I am going to use:
- 50 pin internal SCSI cable plastic connectors (quite cheap here), actually two of them, one should be cut to fit 25 pin
- ribbon cable
- Molex 5.25" 2 plugs extension for power.
What about 25 pin to 50 pin SCSI pinout? I found something here...
Hi I have 512k enhanced with Dove memory and SCSI. I noticed that SCSI PCB has 25 pin connector which allows me to use some externa;l devices (SCSI 25). How about using SCSI2SD inside since it's small and wont draw much juice from PSU? Is it doable?
What are my options for connecting SCS2SD to...
I also find these old books obsolete, out of 10 compact Mac problems, they didnt hit the nail in any case.. so do the math. The only relevant book would be the one written by techknight.
is there any specific reason to run System 7.5.5 on slow as molasses 68000 processor? I thought operating systems written in assembler (up to 6.0.8 I guess) were definitely faster and nicer to use than the versions released after transition to object language. Just my two cents.
