Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
There have been some projects for mapping a gamepad to keyboard inputs, but if I'm not mistaken most of them are centered around PS/2 and or AT keyboards. With that said, I do know there is a Vogons Thread where someone was developing a board to convert genesis and snes controllers to PS/2 that...
I will be getting around to doing it in the next few months. For now, I am content with leaving it as is until I am confident in my SMD abilities. My LC II is a little rough on the inside
No, I apparently managed to find one that hasn't started leaking all over its self.
It's been IPA cleaned since this image, and the PRAM battery was changed as well.
Have the beauty shot.
Awesome. I have a love for slight sims, so I will definitely give that a shot when I can get to it. Currently, I have it all up and running mostly stable, and I think I might be looking out for a HPV card at some point, as the AV card seems to be a minor hindrance at this point.
I've done...
Thanks, I'm still trying to figure out what I am going to be doing with this machine, but that can be blamed on my managing to find interesting PC hardware recently. After all, you can't find an AWE64 Gold for $5 without getting sidetracked for a while. I'm also using my G4 to move files to the...
Believe me, after having to recap the PSU and the logic board in my LC II, and changing the thermal paste on my DP G4, this was easy maintenance. Heck, it only involved four easy to remove tabs.
I would be interested in doing some of that stuff if NuBus cards were either available locally, or weren't far more than the money I spent on this machine. And, really, since I have my G3 B&W, I don't quite need to upgrade this machine all too much.
Yeah, I noticed that the system can't quite...
That it is. It isn't the most upgradable or the most interesting, but it's fun to mess around with.
I've already switched the paste out with something modern, don't worry. It wasn't original-xbox-level dried gum paste just yet, but it wasn't too far off from being there. I also went ahead and...
While this lad isn't an absolute unit like the later PowerPC based machines, I am happy to have it.
I would consider this kind of machine one of my Beige Whales, as it's something that I've wanted to get but I was never going to spend the money most would ask for. Functionally, it's more of a...
Okay, I will then try to figure out how to make a cable in case I need it in the future. I managed to get the computer booted up via having my Pentium MMX system running next to it to provide molex power, and outside of thing being predictably slow, everything seems to be working. Even my floppy...
The 4-pin to Molex cable that is missing for some reason in my LC-II. I want to at least try to see if there's anything on the included HDD before I go ahead and get a SCSI2SD adapter.
Thank you both. I am waiting for the DB-15 adapter to come in so I can get video out, but I managed to recap the board and power supply. All seems well so far, since I get a happy chime. Now to just find a SCSI power cable.
Earlier today, I managed to pick up an LC II. Once I got home, I opened it up, and cleaned out what dust had collected over the years, then went to turn it on. I currently don't have a DB-15 to VGA converter to allow me to get video out of it, but I thought I should at least plug it in to make...
