Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Well, there you go . . . so long as you don't develop a taste for the sweet variety in old paint.
I guess the AI files will probably do the trick by themselves. I'll get a full set of .PDF versions set up to post.
Doing the Tri-Slot version for prototyping should be the first step I think...
SWEET! Thanks much. :D
I've got the boards laid out in AI8 for form factor and the traces as well so schematic capture should be a breeze. I need three boards, TwinSlots for 6360/5x00 and TAM. Third one's a TriSlot beauty for the 6360. Yes it'll fit nicely with topbar mod @chelseayr. ;)
I can...
@zigzagjoe if someone here or over there comes up with a source for the PDS connector, I've got a small box full of Blackbird bits and pieces headed your way. Bringing those internals to life and put to good use in a test rig chassis will be most entertaining, if and when. ;)
Hope you don't...
Lucked out for a change! Looks good to me so far, dunno about connector availability. How does memory mapping line up?
Luckily the Blackbirds have a pokey bridged PDS slot, later systems are 25MHz if memory serves.
I'll drop this tangent now . . . couldn't help myself.
Yeah, it was a crazy notion that popped into my noggin. But the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked. ;)
Good point about partition capacity. Interesting, haven't looked at CF cost/capacity in a very long time. Amazon's got 4GB Transcend Cards for $21 and no-names for $17, very...
Oopsie, missed that in responding to @LaPorta great goings on! Indeed, the IIfx PDS is a slot dying for expansion.
How much overhead would be involved using an SD->CF adapter. If not too, too much of a hit, much higher capacity cards are available in SD, if supported?
Again, fabulous work.
Been a bit, have you got details to post on your Pi Pico interface? Please post a thread about it in hacks.
Target matrices:
Macintosh Portable (given)
PowerBook 1400
PowerBook 100
PowerBook 190/5300
PowerBook Duo
Very nice, welcome to what's now a gang of three! ;)
Correct, you need to rob signals from CSII go full-on PCI for Slot D. I used a cheap single slot RA riser card, removed the connector and hotwired from there to my cable monster test rig just for a screen shot op in TattleTech.
Don't see...
I misunderstood, thought you meant an AIO released after the 575 was available with a Trinitron display.
What a shame. If any, they really should have put a Trinitron in the gorgeous, black PowerMac 5500 Director's Edition. Now THAT would have become a collectable, even if only 15" CRT in the...
Thanks! That sounds like a very interesting experiment, might give it a whirl some day, but the video appears to be lost to time.
I've been leaning toward 7.5.5 or even 7.1 Which puts me back down Quadra 630 and IIx/Rocket memory lanes respectively. 6.0.8 is a real temptation as that's what...
Yep, that's why I said origin was the Quadra 630 sire (introduced three days prior to LC/68030LC equipped variants) of all I like to call the A/V Slot Macs/Architectures. ;)
edit: 1995 580 would be the first changeover to A/V slot/6x0 series logic board for the 5x0 series, Great Logic Board...
Never thought about the 5x00 as being a reason for the setup. It goes back to the Quadra 630 desktop. I think it most likely Apple was laying the groundwork the upcoming 6x00 tower case/subwoofer differentiation.
Backplane power switch, internal speaker connector and AMP for sound are on that...
Work backwards from info on modern LCDs and general info on them. Maybe there's a history of LCD development?
