Can the Macintosh Plus be modified to support 16MB RAM?

It's 8MB as was mine in the day as soon as I could get an order off to APS for that card, their faster Modem, and a 230MB HDD for BabyPB. Since I've learned of the Portable's 9MB capability, I've been very curious about the RAM based Video Out card for the PB100. I wonder if Sony reserved the...

Internal chassis replacement for Macintosh Performa 6116CD

Love it, especially the three part modular approach! Opens up some possibilities there. The HDD module can be customized for my cooling system. Height/thickness can be optimized for stacking blower and a 2.5" HDD on top. Setting the chassis vertically into the case allows for foam...

An IIsi in my SE/30? It's more likely than you think!

Thanks, unfortunate that. Can an analog video output bodge work, given that limitation in RBV? How about digging up and posting that pretty IIsi/Compact ratsnest as inspiration for the dreamers? ;)

An IIsi in my SE/30? It's more likely than you think!

Yep, noted. That was a reply to @Arbee about PPC. Said such was way off topic and in need of a dedicated thread. ;) Re-read that portion of the thread earlier (after edit timeout) and saw you're taking non-hotplug hardware case into account. ROM/Driver playtime is out of my wheelhouse/way over...

An IIsi in my SE/30? It's more likely than you think!

Might you be wreaking havoc upon the IIsi's Vampire Video buffering that is set up at boot time? - sense lines detected at startup = 1MB of system memory buffered for use as VRAM. - no monitor connected = no buffering of first Meg. - hotplug monitor/sense lines after boot = all kinds of havoc...

An IIsi in my SE/30? It's more likely than you think!

Dunno, PPC is way off topic, characteristically insane and in need of a dedicated thread here, but makes more sense to me to start out with a PPC board. Q630 form factor PPC boards fit for transplant as is. Though well beyond current capabilities. A second gen reloaded PPC board (with cache)...

An IIsi in my SE/30? It's more likely than you think!

🤣 FINALLY! @Bolle when did you do that IIsi in SE/30 form factor rats nest? Looked, but can't find that layout from years back. Apparently I'd put a bug in your ear in a thread about this very thing. You PM'd me with the diagram saying you'd been dragged into it. Still got that beauty squirreled...

    Performa 5200CD mouse nest

Yep, LEM Fables are definitely a thing to be aware of, but it's a very good site and even great sites like everymac miss the boat on some issues as well. The one thing I cannot forgive is LEM's incessant comparison of high end "Accelerated NuBus VidCards" as being "slower" than "Onboard Video."...

Indeed, but how much did they know about Fast/Narrow signal integrity requirements? Might want to include a caveat precluding use of or maximum cable length specification recommendation for the adventurous? DB25/Centronics50 cables in the field are not likely to be reliable I'd think? But as you...

Using the likes of an external BlueSCSI mounted directly on a DB-25 connector might work well enough despite the lack of alternating ground lines over that short a run? Dunno, just tossing a couple of cents onto the waters of development.

Five Rockets and interface card for a six-slot NuBus expansion chassis = five dedicated VidCards for the Rockets and room for a NIC? Six VidCards if you wanna share the IIfx MoBo on a sixth display and go with SCSI Networking. Gaaaaah! 🤪

Didn't notice you show DB-25 on that card? Sub-standard Mac connectors/cables for SCSI aren't even close to connectors/cables rated for Fast/Narrow as on the Radius Daughtercard. Alternating ground, 50 pin IDC ribbon cables for internal use are standard for Fast/Narrow.

PicoPSU: is waste heat proportional to current used?

May not even need the PicoPSU? Offer accepted on LCD/Controller with a 12V input, same as CM4! Might a very simple Capacitor/Resistor board do the trick? If I go with the PicoPSU all I'd need would be current limiting resistors on two of the 12V lines. Looking good for a setup running off the...

Help identifying Nubus graphic cards and VRam

That's what I meant, I've typed PDS so many times DSP just wouldn't roll off my fingertips! 🤣 Card above is minus, the DSP connector: Gotta run TattleTech to find out what model it is, guessing Futura II SX, but w/o provision for DSP. I've never seen one like that. Both my cards lack the...

PicoPSU: is waste heat proportional to current used?

🤣 The OEM brick is a great example, thanks! PicoPSU 12V input jack replaces the Duo's power input jack, no brick inside. Only the PicoPSU is enclosed within the Duo case. Don't have power requirements of all components or the peripherals in hand as yet. Duo is worst case scenario and a handy...

Need an "I don't know jack" guide to Pi 3 and Netatalk/CUPS

Knowing < jack, I'm curious about your image. Is it set up with Mac emulation as shown? If so, what System is up and running out of the box? Installing I/O Board/Compute Module 4 in a dead Duo 280, not so worried about networking. If not, are there any images with Mac emulation/Linux ready to...
