Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Nope, gotta have most of the top plate of the chassis masked off with the fan set up to pull air up from the basement/MoBo thru the unmasked openings. Even the area around the A/B umbilical would be reduced to a minimum. The fan would be positioned so as to blow exactly where you've indicated...
Was thinking about this and might have come up with a more efficient method. Haven't got ready access to a
Plus ATM, but a combination of Radius' redirection baffle with a printed duct using a fan to pull more air in thru the side/front vents for cooling upgrades directly to over-pressure the...
Interesting, nicely done.
Mechanical Engineer middle little brother did blade server packaging design. We talked about cooling in this context and he said that anytime a fan is introduced into a system designed for convection cooling, convection goes out the window.
No criticism whatsoever...
LOL! The first thing that came to mind the one and only time I've seen these atrocities IRL was on parent's day at Stuyvesant High School (Hackers) was that the little geniuses there were having a bit of fun sticking Apple Logos on utter crap PC's in the school library.
Be that as it may, I do...
Nope, a rightey, lefties have it easier when living one handed, says my lefty ex with recent broken wrist.
It has indeed been eight years:

Directly back on topic:
It's nice to see we're on the same page. I've had a tube of thruhole GAL sockets leaning across the back of the HackHutch™ for almost all of those eight years! KISS principal compliance in assembly! :)
Luggable version of the Performer is something I did a lot of Illustrator dreamwork upon in the far distant past. Having Performer discussions here hit page one again is thrilling to me.
With a new age magician like @zigzagjoe chiming in here this dinosaur has hopes for further Performer...
That's just the last five weeks post-op, but I've been pretty much been off the KBD/mouse since injury at work five months ago. Got addicted to YouBoobTube vids even right handed instead.
Interesting, so it might work on the Portable PDS as well, no? Those were my two wildest dreams way back then. Has anyone done an 030 in the Luggable? I've been out of it around here for so long I haven't a clue.
I've been doing everything wrong handed recovering from rotator cuff surgery...
Cache, on board memory and faster clock were features on the higher tier Performer models.
Thanks much for explaining the source of the problem! @Bolle never told me that it was a problem with DSACK.
I'll bounce this pipe dream off you right here: might the Performer be miniaturized into a...
Even if so, Performer's timings likely won't support CPU at 32Mhz. @Bolle tested for me when we were cloning my Performer/Plus. I had the same crazy notion, but for the SE. It has the Slot Manager required 16Mhz reference clock on its PDS. Plan was to run that thru the stock GAL7 to get up to...
Thanks for the quick input, guys!
No need for acceleration doing line art in Illustrator under OS9, just looking to get as many pixels as I can squeeze out of the MDD. I can wait for redraws in GraphicConverter as well.
What's the max resolution that absurd ADC port supports? Can't find an...
Setting up a 4-way HDMI KVM Switch. So I need a decent card that will do at least 1440p and 1920x1200, preferably in the digital output realm. DVI to HDMI cables I have on hand for the latter. No luck finding ADC to HDMI cable or adapter, only ADC to DVI with its severe limitations so no go for...
Nice! Love the 2300cTB variants, trackballs rule! Apple shipped gawdawful trackpads until the G3 series.
edit: everyone else shipped same in that period, not just Apple. ;)
Interesting hack! Likely no need for this one though, it should have all the same I/O hookups as a VCR in the previous model. Forgot to look when I was out there on Tuesday, hopefully it will be gone next time I hit that thrift. ;)
Yep, that's my fallback notion too.
Wondering if a TV tube with a neck board like that could be converted to something cool for computer display. If not, looks easy enough to use in a miniaturized, unitized, printed AIO Monitor/Apple II game console? 5.5" CRT would be useful with period...
Memorex MKS8590
https://www.generalmanual.com/Players/Memorex-MKS8590-Karaoke-Home-System.htm#gsc.tab=0
Was thinking it hard to imagine it not at least 640x480 and VGA Compatible, but at closer look, it seems to be a TV Tube?
Excising display's guts from the mess in that thing in a useful...
