    AFP from a Synology NAS

I'm going to create a docker container for Netatalk 2.2.8 and in case to make it available here, but apt for Debian only supports Netatalk v 3.1.12. I might sound lazy, but I want to avoid the compile it and I'm struggling to find a binary for v-2.2.8: my base for docker file is going to be...

    AFP from a Synology NAS

@Green78II I'm successfully using FTP from the NAS for my legacy Macs as well, still I want to explore now AppleTalk and to share folders so keeping resource and data forks intact. @slipperygrey if I got it right, my roadmap is to install Netatalk 2.2.8 in some host in my LAN, so to have AFP...

    AFP from a Synology NAS

DSM uses Netatalk-3.1.12. AFP protocol version supported: 2.2 3.0 3.1 3.2 3.3 3.4 Open-source Netatalk removed AppleTalk since Netatalk-3.0. Therefore, DSM does not support DDP. I'll disable AFP from the NAS and install MacIPgw

    AFP from a Synology NAS

thanks pal, it's not my comfort zone here so I might be wrong but ... sure thing the NAS speaks only TCP/IP but it might supports EtherTalk which is LocalTalk over Ethernet. The Asante can do the magic by converting AppleTalk on Ethernet <--> AppleTalk on LocalTalk. If the AFP implementation on...

    AFP from a Synology NAS

Hi pals, I have something that can be useful to other and some questions at the end. Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30

Thanks for this. I believe that we all get it, at list I do. I just take the opportunity here to state an informal interest. Bolle already clearly stated his position about waiting or reserve lists. At least he has some figures and he can make an estimated guess. Then ... let's see

    800k ejecting all the time

You might want to check the "sensor" that sits close to the eject motor. The contacts might not close the circuit and it believes it never reaches the end, so it keeps spinning. It happened to me. Sorry I can not send you a picture right now

    Netatalk 2.2.7 Released

Thanks for this effort @slipperygrey . Would it be feasible to create a docker container? In case the adoption would be easier. Another option for modern MacOS users would be a brew cask. I'm not smart enough with CLI and Unix/Linux to volunteer to provide those distributions.

    Classic AB reverse e engineering

Hi pals, I have a Classic AB badly damaged due to the usual caps electrolytes; there are too many bodge wires to make and pads are badly lifted or even missing. I could remove al the parts, clean it thorough-fully and re solder back in everything, but it's so soaked with acid and that it will...

    Auto Floppy Repair Info

I've been trying in the past to align the head of floppy drives by adjusting by small increments the optical sensor. Sometimes I was able to do the job, but it was is long a boring process because everytime you have to eject the disk, adjust the position of the sensor and re insert the disk. I...
