Does this sound like a reasonable price?

I think it was around 40 to 50 pounds. The combined price was around A$200 which was better than I could find here at the time. It was worth it as it was a made in Ireland version of the SE and it worked, only ever see asian and some us builds in Australia.

    Suitable boot floppy for SE/30

Do you know the drive you put in works? Do you have another early mac to write a system floppy on? Where are you sourcing from, Mac Garden? Search for Apple System recovery CD and use that to create a new floppy on the G# if the drive is OK

How to get data from a Classic Mac to a modern USB Mac?

I use rdmark Debian release from github. Has smb and appletalk server so you can access it from a new iMac which you can use to download software from the net and then copy to debian server which you can access from your older macs via appletak. Works great as you have a repository for all you...

What I learned fiddling with CRT magnets...

I've swapped a number of crt's around between SE, SE/30, classics and you need to fiddle with the convergence rings and the small magnets to get them right. It's not hard and luckily I've never been bitten by the HV. Best to use just one hand to be sure of avoiding the HV. It does take a bit of...

SE/30 with SimasiMac - vertical stripes with floppy icon

Thanks for your reply. I've replaced UE8 and still get vertical jailbars and only clicks and pops from Speaker. Have ultrasonic cleaned and recapped. It's progress as started with black screen. Cheers

SE/30 parts of screen becoming black. Out of memory symptoms?

IPA will clean the board but as has been said you need a recap. You could try to do it yourself, not too difficult if you are a compatant solderer. Lots of resources on youtube to help you.

A tale of two compact Macs - can I fix this SE/30?

probably OK but a good ultrasonic clean is probably the best option. I'd be hunting for a replacement RTC, apparently they have been cloned recently. If you decide it's all too much ther would be no problem getting a buyer for the board as its a good SE/30 reloaded candidate
