This is my favorite PPC machine, hands down. I affectionately call mine weirdway. I even used it as a sever for a bit. NetBSD & Linux run like a charm :)

You are going to hate me, but I could care less about it being a tablet. I would rather have a functioning laptop. Something with hinges that are made of less fail. But we all have dreams, dont we?

Hi! I've been thinking. The only real way to make sure we still have powerbook 5XX machines that aren't in a million pieces for any meaningful amount of time is to make a new enclosure for them. So, here is my question. For the moment, ignoring the logistics what would be better? Exactly copying...
To post an update: The IRC channel is joinable by anyone with a regular client, or by using the freenode web client. You must be logged in to freenode services to talk. This is a fair trade off, without outright blocking a certain service. Mibbit is still blocked by freenode, but you can use...

Just on a security note, you'd be better off writing a simple webserver in perl than you would be putting that old of an apache build on a machine running A/UX. Does every outside-accessible daemon on that have a vulnerability by now?

Not to spill the beans or anything on him, but our very own defor has one, previously owned by IPNixon. Its very nice, if not in decent shape. Never the less, please remember that it sadly shares the vulnerability that all powerbook 5xx machines share. Bad hinge design and poor plastic formula...
Quite honestly, I rarely post, and usually lurk on the forums here. I'm quite active in the irc, but thats another thing. Lets put this into perspective. You all are arguing on the internet. I dont need to repeat the old adage about arguing on the internet, let alone arguing on a 68k mac...
I myself thank Tom for upgrading, and love the new look. This theme, and the theme on phpbb2 are just default themes. This one is much nicer.
Thanks Tom!
