    I acquired a busted tray loader iMac. Battery had leaked and destroyed the motherboard. The display, though, I'm unsure and think it might still work. Since these used the DB15 Mac monitor connector internally, what are the chances of shoving my LC475 in there somehow. I know about the oddities around the specific refresh rates. But, would it be worth pursuing, or not bother? The display might not even work.

    Sounds not unlikely to work. Maybe you need to use two video adapters in series (Mac to VGA and VGA to Mac), maybe also not..

    At the risk of sounding like a novice, how do I scroll through a large text from within openfirmware? On a Sawtooth G4.

    During my systems check this holiday, my Powerbase has been found... wanting. No video out, either built-in or my Radeon. Sigh. Cuda reset and different power supply tested. Gonna reseat everything and then start removing stuff till it boots. I was wanting to play some Powermac-era stuff too.

    Well, I had to replace the motherboard with a spare one I had, gets reliable video now but its hard drive is funky now (aka doesnt work). I guess twenty years of service was good enough for that ole "Magnetic Data Tech" drive.

    After a million years after asking about people experience with lag and such with them, I've bought a Wombat ADB-to-USB adapter to use on my old Macs. The cats have destroyed my original ADB peripherals. Still love them though.

    The last "actual" Mac i had was a 2012 Macbook Pro I used for a good while, good machine.

    You've been more frugal than me. My list is:
    1. 2006 MacBook Core Duo in 2010, died in Jan 2014.
    2. 2012 Mac mini Core 2 Duo in 2014 - still works!
    3. 13" MBP 2018 in August 2018, sold on eBay in 2022.
    4. MacBook M2 in Spring 2022.

    Hol up. How long has macOS done the window snapping thing? I just now noticed that windows will 'snap' to another window. On ventura.

    Monterey I think? You can also click-hold on the green button (hover in Sonoma or later) in a window and get the screen-split options.

    Finally got around to hooking the Mac up to the headset. Latency isn't bad, but is noticeable compared to the 165Hz display. Cats might have damaged that display too (this is the third curved display I think they messed up)

    Happy to find out that there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with my 475, just the VGA adapter. Sad I'm stuck at 640x480 now, though.

    Woah, stabbed my replacement distributor on the 'ole Mustang and got it right on stock timing.

    Anybody have any experience with those USB to ADB adapters about everywhere. Any latency to them?

    I've got the BOMW Wombat and haven't had trouble playing vertical 'shmups and the like.

    The Wombat has latency but it’s very minor, I only noticed it when playing a game on my PC where low latency is important. You’d never notice it on the day to day.

    I was part of the way into modifying PS/2 to ADB code for an AVR (or Arduino), using a proper interrupt-driven state machine. I think it would be possible to do a USB to ADB version using an ATMEGA32U4 (ie. Arduino nano) that way.

    I don't know why, but I remember Basilisk as being cludgy and crash-prone. I used the hda images from my ZuluSCSI in my 475 and it runs quick and completely error-free. The Daystar QuadControl control panel doesn't even crash it (it does it on the web-based InfiniteMac emulator).
