I've already read that first thread, I looked through the other two but I'm not rebuilding a PB 100 battery AFAIK. What I want is to slap in one of those battery holders, so I can remove the NiMh AA's if necessary.

Problem here is that I can't seem to find a holder that'll allow for 10 AA cells AND be wired as to provide only 6v (5 batteries in parallel with 5 batteries). I could compromise and use a 5 cell battery holder, but I've got way too many rechargeable AA's on my hands and I'd like to create a PB battery of godly capacity (25,000mAh). It should last about 6 hours, which is more than enough for me

I saw someone on YouTube who 3D-printed the battery case and used a 10 cell AA holder IIRC, however I can't find the video again

you can get 5 AA battery enclosures on eBay. Normal distributors like Jameco and such don't always have those. Adafruit has one though, part number 3456. You can then wire two of those in parallel to get 5x 1.2V = 6V 2800mAh or something. edit: digikey has part number BH310AAW-ND which is a double stack 10 cell AA holder OR part number BH10AAW-ND which is a single in-line 10 cell holder.

Yeah I saw those 10-cell holders earlier, both of them appear to be wired in series throughout so their output is 12v. The latter one doesn't look like it'll fit in a PB battery anyways.
I've contacted the company that makes those battery holders and they may be able to create what I'm talking about. I don't expect it to be cheap though.

yeah I figured they'd be series wired but i'm thinking just 2 5-cell holders wired in parallel would work fine for your application. However last time I looked inside a Duo battery they had some cells laterally and some longitudinally...that sounds like you may have to make your own array. You'll need something or someone to weld solder tabs onto the cells, as soldering directly to them will cook them.

Because I bet with those AA holders you won't get the battery pack closed again as they're going to be bigger than the factory cell pack unless you downgrade the cells. i.e. I believe the Duo uses 2/3s A cells, which normal AAs are smaller in diameter but not short enough (if I get it right, A cells are 17x50mm, 2/3rds A cells should be roughly 17x33mm).

Hmm, what are the dimensions of PowerBook 1xx batteries?

Do you have one? I'd just measure yours if so.

I would do that if I had one, I'm just planning to buy a PowerBook 1x0 and I wanna get the battery thing figured out first

I can measure one of mine tonight, but you can probably also find the dimensions in one of the STL files for new cases that are out there.
