some tips for people attempting this:

remove the glass from the backlight before soaping. the backlight has a bunch of layers that you really don't want to have to dry.

try and measure the old polarizer first. if you cut it too small, the shiny glass might be visible even with the bezel installed.

Good to call out removing the glass. The one thing to keep in mind as people do that is to be very careful as you handle the glass, specifically the connections that attach to it along the edges. If those separate (and they are very delicate), you will lose rows/columns of pixels and I have not yet been successful reattaching those on a panel.
