Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Sorry, it turns out I should have waited to write. But the good news is I got it to work!
I used `-router` and `-phase 2` in atalkd.conf, then restarted all the relevant services: atalkd, afpd, timelord, papd. Then they all show up in the client machine's Chooser. Having `-seed` in there...
Another clue -- when I select Chooser/Tardis on the client machine, I get a stream of entries like the following in /var/log/syslog:
Oct 15 20:35:43 piscsi atalkd[927]: nbp lkup sendto 65280.243: Network is unreachable
Oct 15 20:35:44 piscsi atalkd[927]: nbp lkup sendto 65280.243: Network is...
Still not working, but I think we may have some progress.
I added these lines to atalkd.conf and restarted afpd and atalkd. Afterwards, this is what nbplkup reported:
pi@piscsi:~ $ nbplkup
piscsi:ProDOS16 Image 2.191:3...
Thanks! I do have the Daynaport drivers installed and the device added to the SCSI bus on the piscsi. I can use it to access the Internet and AppleTalk over TCP/IP. So the piscsi software seems to be working fine; it's Netatalk that's running into problems (albeit with the piscsi bridge...
No luck. Here's some more information.
PiSCSI software version: 23.4.1
Hardware and OS: Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Rev 1.1, Linux 6.1.21-v7+ armv7l
After fresh image install and Netatalk (7) via easyinstall.sh:
pi@piscsi:~ $ nbplkup
piscsi:ProDOS16 Image...
I'm having some trouble getting Netatalk and Daynaport emulation on a PiSCSi to work together. I'm hoping maybe someone here might know what I'm doing wrong!
My setup:
- Raspberry Pi 2B, wired ethernet
- PiSCSI fullspec board
- PiSCSI April 2023 release image
After installing a fresh release...
Yes, I have those issues too with the Quadra 700 – green tint, only 640x480. Do you know what system extensions resolve them? I tried Basic Color Monitor, but that doesn't seem to have changed anything.
Funny - I wish I had the fold-out stand! Is it the right color for the Rev A? I've never seen that, even in photos. Anyway, grass is greener, I suppose :)
From reading online, it sounds like the neck plastic was a particular problem with the Rev A models. The plastic in mine had only partly...
This one seems to be playing nice with a Performa 475!
And yes – this one had the snapped spring holder. Some superglue is doing a fine job for now; if it breaks again though, my plan is to epoxy the spring end to the stand neck.
Good idea. I had a look at through the PD-ROM disks as well as the AMUG disks, but no luck.
Part of the issue may be that the time from the initial Alpha release to 1.03 is fairly short: February - August 1993.
If anyone else has other ideas or leads, please let me know.
I'm working on archiving the earliest versions of the oldest web browsers -- unfortunately, many of these versions are disappearing as FTP archives go offline.

I'm wondering if anyone here has a lead on pre 1.03 versions of MacWWW/Samba...
