Using a AI service to assist with classic mac programming

Often but not always, Claude does a better job of qualifying things and being clear about it's lack of confidence in the answer. To be clear I've also had Claude give me plenty of confidently wrong answers, but this is a good example of it telling me it doesn't know. Here is what I get when I...

Using a AI service to assist with classic mac programming

OP didn't even mention writing code with AI. Just using an AI tool to lookup reference info.

Using a AI service to assist with classic mac programming

I think it would have worked better if I had! Posted from my phone in a bit of a hurry. Edited.

Using a AI service to assist with classic mac programming

If you have the book in PDF you can create a project in Claude.ai and upload the book. If the PDF is too large to fit in context, Claude will RAG search the book for answers. I use this for other things and it works very well.

Announcing ZuluSCSI - A file-based SCSI device emulator

Did a different SD card also fix the ISO mounting issue?

    Macintosh SE/30 Ram upgrade

I got a full set of 16MB SIMMs and it worked no problem. My issue was that I was trying to do 16MB SIMMs in just bank A. You're right, they have to be in both bank A and B. Once I did that, no problems.

Announcing ZuluSCSI - A file-based SCSI device emulator

Attached is my zululog.txt and my zuluscsi.ini (I added .txt extension so the forums would let me upload it, I know you didn't ask for the .ini file, but through it might be helpful). Here is a screenshot of the directory listing from the SD card. It does cycle properly when I do a cold...

    Macintosh SE/30 Ram upgrade

Where you ever able to resolve this? I'm running into a similar issue with my SE/30. I'm using this RAM: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/30PS16MB/ I bought a set of 8, and put 4 of them in my Quadra 700, where they are working just fine. But when I put the other 4 in my SE/30 it does a...

Announcing ZuluSCSI - A file-based SCSI device emulator

Possibly dumb question. I have a ZuluSCSI RP2040 in a Quadra 700 and it’s working great. I’m running System 7.5.5. And the ZuluSCSI has firmware 1.1.5. I have the ZuluSCSI ini setup with a few ISOs and I see in the documentation that an Eject command is supppsed to cycle through them. On cold...

DayStar PowerPro 601 still in shrink wrap

Pretty surprised I was able to get this. A DayStar ProwerPro 601 upgrade for 68040 Macintosh's. It's still in the original shrink wrap, never opened. I asked the seller where they got it and they said their husband passed and was a videographer, left a lot of stuff, including this. So I guess...

    Pink / Taligent / TalOS

Those links are interesting. That Taligent screenshot immediately made me think of BeOS. Then I looked at the Taligent Wikipedia page and found this quote: "The founding lead engineer of Pink, Erich Ringewald, departed Apple in 1990 to become the lead software architect at Be Inc. and design...

Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30

I guess finished to me means I could buy one. :D If you do end up feeling like making more, I'd certainly send you some money.
