    Recapped SE/30 with Simasi-Pattern and chimes of doom

    That was the direction I was heading. I'll check all the data and address lines and if that doesn't bring up anything I'll check out the muxes. Luckily a friend of mine has an eight channel logic analyzer ;D My other SE/30 had a shift register that was gone, so I hope its just something...

    Recapped SE/30 with Simasi-Pattern and chimes of doom

    Thanks for your reply, but I don't think I'm looking at a "real" SimasiMac here. As far as I understood, in that case there would be no bong at all.

    Recapped SE/30 with Simasi-Pattern and chimes of doom

    Hi everyone! Some time ago, I got a SE/30 that someone gave away. Only thing I know about its history is that it "stopped working". Back then, it showed horizontal bars and chimes of doom (very quiet). A few days back I've opened it for the first time. Everyting was quite corroded from...

    R.I.P. OpenBSD mac68k

    Hi folks, yes, OpenBSD for mac68k officially is dead now xx( This is partly strange, as 5.1 (released May 1st, 2012) is available for mac68k, but on the other hand it is also comprehensible, given the arguments. Here is Miod's original mail: Bye Steffen

    OpenBSD @ SE/30 => no SSH login?

    Solved it. :beige: The logging facility was correct, but the syslog configuration wasn't. I had to change the /etc/syslog.conf line auth.info /var/log/authlog to auth.* /var/log/authlog to get the debug level messages. On the server, I always got something like sshd[17111]: fatal...

    OpenBSD @ SE/30 => no SSH login?

    I already raised the loglevel for the sshd to DEBUG3. As the standard log facility is the AUTH log, I suppose I should be able to see everything in the auth log, which kind of isn't verbose at all :?: Is there an other log (given that I didn't change the log facilities/log file locations)...

    OpenBSD @ SE/30 => no SSH login?

    If it wasn't running, the client would exit with "ssh: connect to host $hostname port 22: Connection refused" rather than starting to negotiate the key exhange. ;) Oh, and the sever wouldn't log anything SSH-wise, would it? :D

    OpenBSD @ SE/30 => no SSH login?

    Hi there! Maybe one of you guys might have an idea about this: I've installed OpenBSD 5.1 to my SE/30. Works OK except for the fact that I can't SSH to the box. Making SSH connections from the SE/30 to other machines on the other hand works just fine. This is what the client sees: debug2...

    Stuck in boot loop

    Another thing I've found out about this issue is that the patched Apple HD SC 7.3.5 yet again enables me to dual-boot 2 individual partitions with SystemPicker |) Hands off non-Apple tools! :D

    Stuck in boot loop

    Yeah, I've noticed that with an earlier installation, but this time it wouldn't boot even after a few loops. However, I've figured something out. :beige: After a hundred re-installations from scratch (well, this might be slightly exaggerated, maybe it was just 97 or so) with Silvierlining...

    Stuck in boot loop

    Because 4MB is way more than enough for the A/UX booting 7.1 Even 3MB might work, actually... Sorry for the confusion. Of course I intend to do that. The configuration described just was my last (not working) testing setup :'( Tried that, however, it won't recognize/accept the drive. The...

    Stuck in boot loop

    Hi there! I had my SE/30 working, then reformatted the drive and now I can't get anything to work again :disapprove: I am using Silverlining 5.8.3 to partition the drive because I'm intending to dual-boot it with A/UX. I use a 4.3 GB harddisk. Here is what I did: 1st Volume (according to...

    SE/30 with "32bit clean ROM" => pointless?

    Well, whatever the cure is, romwise speaking, the IIfx is not. I switched back to the stock rom for now. Maybe I'll change that if I ever can get my hands on a Quadra- or IIci-ROM or so. Until then I'll stay with System 7.5.5 and A/UX 3 :D

    SE/30 with "32bit clean ROM" => pointless?

    Seconded. However, if that's all that is being fixed, I'll stay with the stock ROM for now. Nice ;) That looks promising. I'll try that if I ever get my hands on one of those :approve: Altough I have to admit that it isn't "nice", it really doesn't bother me. :o)

    SE/30 with "32bit clean ROM" => pointless?

    So, to narrow it down a bit: 32bit clean ROM might not be pointless, but in form of a IIfx ROM it still is? ;)
