Thanks JrWil, I will give those a shot. I tried to use Eudora Lite but the configuration settings are too limited and do not let me specificy POP server and Port information so I can't use my STunnel setup on the RaspberryPi. I am hoping that Mushashi allows for finer tuning of POP/SMTP server...
Update: my troubleshooting is now over and the root cause has been identified. It wasn't the board, it wasn't the SCSI controller, it wasn't the RAM, it wasn't an extension conflict....it was the ROM!
The ROM was replaced and the problem completely went away. Thanks for everyone's help in...
Quick update: I did the analog board recap this weekend based on JoeTheZombie cap list and it worked out great. The analog board now works like a new one. The wiggly screen and intermittent passing band have vanished. Thanks again!
Under 7.5.5, clicking on the control panel item 'Apple menu options' triggers the error message 'the control panel apple menu options could not be opened, because an error of type -40 occurred'. All other control panel items seem to work fine. Any thoughts as to the potential cause?
In a separate thread I have reported intermittent startup issues with my SE/30 (freezes at the welcome screen). I have since installed Macsbugs 6.6.3 and when the freeze occurred again I pressed the interrupt button to invoke Macsbugs. Macsbug reported the following error "the ROM symbol file...
No I have not connected to any network, this is a clean OS install on a HD that was just reformatted. I have since installed Macsbugs 6.6.3 and I pressed the interrupt when the freeze occurred. Macsbugs reported the following error message: "the ROM symbol file could not be read due an OS or...
So far I have not been able to reproduce the problem when booting from the floppy. Could it be the SCSI controller? If so, is there a way to test for that specifically? What is strange is that the failure only occurs at a specific moment of the boot process, never before or after.
My SE/30 keeps acting up by intermittently freezing at the welcome screen. The computer passes the built-in self test, show the happy Mac icon, displays the welcome screen and then one out of five times (sometimes more frequently, sometimes less frequently), it freezes at the welcome screen...
My SE/30 (32MB RAM running 7.5.5) freezes at the welcome screen when mode32 v7.5 (or v1.2) is active. It will only recover if I start the system without extensions and remove mode32. I am suspecting a bad SIMM. Is there a good RAM diagnostic software out there that would enable me to test my...
My SE/30 will sometime hang on the welcome screen and this both upon cold starts and restarts. This happens even with extensions off and is apparently not related to the hard drive as I have replaced the hard drive and I was also able to replicate the problem with just an external drive...
