On a somewhat related topic, does anyone have a rom dump from an Apple LC PDS Ethernet board? The ROM has Apple part number 341-0470. I'm trying to troubleshoot one of these that doesn't seem to want to work correctly. I'd like to compare a known good image to what I dumped off of mine.
In case others come across this thread, I figured I’d correct the info. The picture below shows the IOSB PAx pin annotations and connected resistor locations on my Centris 610. I didn’t trace out where PA6 was connected to.
Hi all - I've been playing around with hacking the ROM in a Centris 610 to get it to work reliably at 40MHz. Using the info from this thread and https://github.com/cy384/wombat-hacks, I've been able to force it to use the DRAM 40MHz timings just fine. What I haven't been able to quite figure out...
Here is the firmware I grabbed off an Adtron SSDS-03A. Perhaps not quite the same thing as described in the original post. I used this firmware to convert an SSDS-04A (tape emulation) to the SSDS-03A.
Hi all,
While trying to revive a Centris 610, I managed to completely rip off a component leg from the IOSB ASIC. 🤦♂️ Does anyone have a scrap Centris/Quadra 610/650 or Q800 logic board with a physically good IOSB ASIC they might be willing to part with?
I've got a Centris 610 logic board that I recently recapped. I replaced all the leaking electrolytic caps with tantalums. It is working, mostly, though seems to exhibit some instability. I do notice that I don't get much for voltage across C50. Can anyone confirm if there is a DC voltage across...
I've had two different G3 PDQ PowerBooks. Using an IDE to mSATA adapter, I could never get the internal optical drive (CDROM in my case) to be usable. I tried both the Ableconn IIDE-MSAT as well as a no-name IDE to mSATA adapter off of eBay. Tried a few different mSATA drives and none of them...
Thanks! I did get the crystal to start functioning again. Not sure exactly what I did, but it seems to be working ok now. The frequency appears to be 16.38MHZ.
Hi all,
I'm troubleshooting a non-working 804av. The board was previously re-capped, but currently isn't giving a startup chime or doing much of anything when power is applied.
Not sure if it is related or not, but the ATECS chip isn't providing any clock to the PSC. Digging further, it looks...
I had a copy of BPI Accounting. It came with a Lisa computer my parents picked up second hand about 25 years ago. I remember playing around with it (it was a separate environment outside of the Office System). I ended up selling it with that Lisa back in about 1999.
I replaced the foam in a Lisa keyboard not too long ago. I did all of the keys and it was quite time consuming, but in the end they all worked fine and it was worth it.
I used some 1/8" thick foam mounting squares from a craft shop and trimmed them to fit. Ideally, if you could find something...
If you think U1 (24V regulator) is bad, I could probably send you a replacement part. I bought a couple when I had to replace that part on my video board and have extras.
Yea, I've tried Copy II Mac. It seemed to indicate problems reading every sector on this disk. I've also tried FEDIT, but it can't even mount the volume. I'm beginning to think the previous owner may have "accidently" formatted the game disk. It wasn't locked. :(
So,
I found a guy who had some old Mac software he wanted to get rid of. Most of it was from the mid-90's, but he had a few older titles including Sim City and Hacker II in original boxes. The Sim City disk appears to work just fine, but the copy of Hacker II seems no good. I just get the...
