I had this problem, and was able to fix it! QT150, connected to PowerBook 1400. I got a slightly different error message, which mentioned AppleTalk potentially interfering. I opened the Chooser, and AppleTalk was indeed enabled. I disabled AppleTalk, closed the chooser, reconnected the camera...
