Apple Lisa - Information & Help!

Wow, ouch. Those batteries are what I was afraid of. The same thing happened to my MacXL that was in storage for twenty years. Yes, remove those batteries and carefully clean that area to arrest the corrosion. As stated in the above comment if you don't currently have the skills to address the...

Apple Lisa - Information & Help!

Nice looking ensemble. Nice collection of software as well. You are wise to take caution in activating it. Have you checked for corrosion on the motherboard from the backup batteries? After many years in the attic it's possible something will fail very quickly and cause damage if you try to...

    Undervolt MDD?

The "B" die used the same substrate. It would have been an unnecessary expense to do a revision to change the marking.

Picked up a few macs, don't know where to start

Nice! Those were solid laptops in their day. Far superior to what Dell was offering. I have an old T-23 I still use for accessing the ECM in my truck.

    Nick's finds

That adapter is a good one. Griffin made good stuff.

    Nick's finds

Nice monitor. A friend of mine had one of those many years ago. He used it with a IIsi at a print shop. He was doing layouts with Quarkxpress.

Strange Beige G3 Tower with “Not approved by the FCC” sticker and black tape everywhere

We had some Macs (full systems) with that same FCC sticker on them when I worked at Motorola. They were pre-release systems supplied by Apple for testing purposes. For that one I'd say pizzigri's guess is as good as any.

    Motorola Marco now working!

No, It won't run off just the AC adapter. It needs a good backup battery as well as a main battery that will still take at least some charge. The way I got mine to work was with a good backup and the main battery installed I let it charge for about 10-20 minutes then use a paper clip to push the...

    G4 Mac mini

Imho, the PS is probably worth as much as the actual Mini.

    Motorola Marco now working!

I think the batteries could be successfully rebuilt, with care and patience. :) Or an enterprising individual could 3D print a new case and just reuse the internals.

Probably a dumb question: is there a faster way to set the year than tapping 312 times?

Wow, there's Newton connection software for OSX? I did not know that.

    Motorola Marco now working!

Years later.. I dug out the Marco today and.. it still works! Even more amazing is I could set the correct date. It's really difficult to get a good image of the screen. I had to replace the lithium battery, it was dead, and the NiMh batteries still need rebuilt but it still works. See how it...
