I have a hard drive from a dead LC that I wants to add to my SE 30. I have seen people adding a CD drive but I haven't heard about adding a second hard drive. Has anyone done this?

That's weird. I remembered downloading system 7.1 from Apple. That's how I have some floppies of system 7.1. Now I can't find system 7.1 on apple.

Anyone knows how I can burn an HVF cd image? I am using Linux. I do have the option to use a Mac with OS X at school. Would a mac be able to burn HVF cd image? Thanks.

I had to turn 32 bit on for it to use the CD drive. It's working now.

OK several problems. When turn on, it doesn't not make the bong sound. I don't know if a Mac SE 30 should make that sound or not when starting up. Second, sound volume is kind of low. Third problem is it won't display any CD on the desktop when I insert a CD into the external CD drive. I...

Just curious, how did you remove the old capacitors? I have just order a set of new capacitors for my Mac SE/30 but I am not confidence in doing the replacement by myself. I worry that I could mess things up.

I bought one and it came with the driver. But it requires at least system 8.1. I only have 7.1. That sucks.

There is no way to format the hard drive. I tried everything.. from boot from a floppy and run disk tools like HD setup, and some commerical disk tools to format it. I tried all the tricks on hacking foolproof. The only thing I haven't tried is putting it on a sun machine.
