I'm interested in a kit for your custom board! Just got the Maclock, the display, and a Pi Zero and itching to make it work! The brightness controls sound great too!
Can you also wire in the touch sensor on top for sleep/wake?
Quick update: the 150uF 10V cap measures at 161uF, and the 100uF 35V cap measures at 145.4uF. That's a bit high for the 100uF, so maybe it's going bad and needs replacement...
So I've tried 2 more times to replicate the mod, and instead of the smooth brightness I got on the first one I modified, I'm getting the jumpy brightness change where it's either too bright or too dim, and the brightness settings in between are unpredictable. I wonder if it only works on...
Howdy y'all,
I'm the guy that rebuilds iBook batteries, and I've got a iBook G3 clamshell 466MHz logic board here that's showing some quite odd symptoms. All of this is happening with a known-good power adapter and known good re-celled battery that works perfectly with several other iBooks...
Howdy! I've done the super capacitor on a few iBook clamshells to ensure NVRAM is saved and avoid PMU issues, but I didn't realize those other 2 caps needed to be replaced. Have you seen leakage from them? What issues have you seen as a result?
I've got one SE here that just makes a faint...
I gave this mod a try today on a board with blue PCB and am happy to report it works perfectly! Brightness steps smoothly in the correct direction between dark and light with no jumps or dark spots like before. Bravo for figuring it out, @AEChadwick, thank you for sharing!
@davidg5678 I didn't...
Success! I just did the LED backlight mod on the IBM panel in this Tangerine iBook, and wow, it’s bright! WAY brighter than my XGA-modded Indigo, and as bright as my M2 MacBook!
I did not need to shim the backlight, I simply used the rubber that previously held the CFL and it fit perfectly. The...
