I had vertical collapse on mine and i changed c418 with a different brand of cap. The new one i had already put on didnt seem to work properly. Maybe esr? Or ripple current wrong? Check your soldering too. These are definitely a pain.
My main computer is still my 2015 retina 15” macbook pro lol.. haven’t even jumped into apple silicon yet.. also use my 5,1 Mac pro. I collected an original unibody macbook 13”, an 11” macbook air, and a original macbook air 13” 2008 for my collection. I also have a mint 2011 15” MacBook pro...
So pulled the two bad chips and cleaned them. I will either need replacing or dremal into the top. Lots of broken or missing traces.. so still uncertain if i should reload this one?
Yeah i figured it was 1mb simms. It also has a 4 bit macintosh ii card for 16 colors.. wow thats a lot of colors lol.. not.. at least the video card works. Will check ram next
Yeah long drive lol.. but had a few other things to pick up at a friends so made a day of it.
The board has lots of broken traces but in the scheme of things it isn’t terrible.
So if course has some battery damage. So couple of questions…
Does it look like it can be repaired or should i look into a reload board? The rtc chip is done. I have spares. But another chip is toast and some legs are missing from another.
Another question is how can one tell the memory size...
Ok, so i know a 0101 board is probably worth more but i do have a 512k board and a 400k floppy so may just sell the 0101. I just need the floppy bracket and a 400k floppy cable. I assume that the cables are different from a 800k?? The floppy bracket in this 128k only holds a 800k drive.
Opened up my 2 original 128k’s to lube the floppy drives. Noticed the different processors. Is one an earlier version i would assume? Also i have a 3rd 128k someone upgraded to a plus or 512ke which i dont want as i have a plus. So if i buy the 342-0220-a and 342-0221-a roms will this convert it...
I ended up going through my drawer of misc 30 pin ram and found a classic expansion card. The soldered on ram was the same # as the iisi board so i went for it.
So changed all the memory to correct memory, and all the als245 and still the same thing. Any idead what else? Probably a broken trace at this point or something else?
