As far as I'm aware it's just a social media hashtag used to promote the care and feeding of vintage Macs during the month of March. I vaguely remember someone (probably on this forum?) starting it years ago - perhaps to promote an event or project? I'd love a reminder if anyone remembers the...
I spotted a local Craigslist ad the other day offering some old Macs for $50. There were virtually no details and only one unfocused picture so I wasn't exactly confident that it was going to be a worthwhile endeavor but the seller was quite close to me so we arranged to meet after lunch. The ad...
Super helpful info - thank you!
I'm delighted to report that a set of fresh ImageWriter II ink ribbons arrived today, and after some trial-and-error with various combinations of serial cables and null-modem adapters, the Lisa and ImageWriter are working beautifully!
Spoiler alert: if anyone...
Probably a super basic question but just in case there's some esoteric knowledge needed: I have a Lisa 2/10 running Lisa OS and the 7/7 application suite. I've also got an Apple ImageWriter II printer which I brought back to life tonight (it was making horrendous noises but it was just in need...
Just chiming in to confirm that I do this frequently from my SE/30 using the BlueSCSI's WiFi connection + Fetch + a simple FTP server app on my MacBook Pro. Works like a charm!

Hi all,
The keyboard that came with my 'new' Lisa 2/10 is in semi-functional condition. Most of the keys would respond after a couple firm presses, but it was pretty clear that the foam-and-foil discs inside had degraded. I've just finished the painstaking task of replacing all the discs, and...
Hi all!
My wife and I visited VCF West a few months ago, and came home with a lovely Apple Lisa 2/10. The machine is in good shape overall, including a functional internal 10MB Widget drive with MacWorks XL installed. The only real issue with the machine that I'm aware of is that the upper...
Update: I’m very pleased to report that the suggestion from @nathall worked - installing ClickChange let me set the menu colors to their proper values! I haven’t tried it with ClickChange uninstalled yet (I quite like this app!) but it’s a perfectly good solution for me. Hooray!
I'm at the point where I think I've tried everything I can think of and/or what you've suggested:
Open / close Monitors Control Panel + reboot
Open / close Monitors Control Panel > Options + reboot
Change color bit depth + reboot
Menu bar and menus look correct in 1-bit (black & white) mode...
How I'm feeling right now
Good call! Once I finish tinkering with the hardware I'll give Test Drive a try
I do have a fresh/modern PRAM battery installed and the odd inverted-colors thing persisted after a few PRAM reset cycles. I'll keep playing with it but if anyone else has a...
Hey all! It's now past 3:30am local time and I'm basically a zombie at this point, but I had to take a moment to share that after several hours of painstaking work, my Macintosh SE/30 has been almost hilariously upgraded: a new 4XDC power supply from @tt powering a tower of @zigzagjoe's...
