Just saw an interesting SE/30 diagnostics video, where he sockets the main chips on a working logic board, and then proceeds to remove the chips one at a time to demonstrate what happens. It was interesting to see that the SWIM chip does cause the simasima condition if it's removed, or not...
I was given this link back when I was building a cable for PC to SE/30:
https://retrofloppy.com/products/
But my SE/30 simasima wouldn't chime and therefore load the diagnostic ROM.
Did buy a Techstep later to confirm everything was functioning correctly; a 4-pin mini DIN for the SE/30 serial...
I have seen the simasimac pattern for the NEC, Ti, and Mt VRAM chips, yours doesn't look like the typical simasima pattern.
It's good that you get a chime of any type, as it means you can most likely use a serial cable to read your error code:
A lot of times a full simasimac condition SE/30...
Recently built (2) new BlueSCSI V2 Desktop versions, from JCM, going to put them in my SE's.
What OS is everyone using with BlueSCSI and SE - 6.0.8 or 7.0.1?
You're welcome! Will be glad to see your Reloaded board put to good use, really like that Purple v5.
I've been watching ebay lately, and just the SE/30 logic boards by themselves (socketed model) are going for near $300! Wonder how much a battery bombed board would go for, by itself.
You need a friend too? Pin D1 trace was missing/broken from my CPU to the ROM slot, so technically my XC68030 was broken. You'll be the happiest of all to know I got both SE/30's fixed.
Looking forward to checking out the Doom port.
Getting the project started, nice!
Have you watched the CayMac videos yet? He makes it look easy, but miss a solder bridge on one of those many chip legs, or damage a board trace, and the troubleshooting becomes the hardest part of all :)

Tell us again how you have no friends IRL - without actually telling us. :ROFLMAO:
@superjer2000 - intersted to hear the 50MHz performance difference compared to stock 16MHz CPU, and thanks for being a positive contributor to this site!
@Mike68k, not a big fan of AI such as yourself, but...
Looking at your PSU pics, I can't see any obvious damage or burnt components. Can you?
If it were me, I'd reassemble the PSU in the cage, then plug it in without the analog board to a surge protected power strip with a remote switch - maybe outdoors - so that I could power up the PSU and cut...
The three brass/gold screws at the borders of the PSU PCB and that white rubber glue are all that holds it in.
Once you get good pics you can figure out if it was the PSU, or the Analog Board that was smoking.
