MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

I am wrong. The "Sample With Sound" flim is not 60ps, which is why the sound is like this. Can you try this with "Sweet Dreams" instead? I think it may actually work.

MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

The sound cycle on your hardware is way too slow. Each note is supposed to last 1/3rd of a second, so the cycle is 1 second. In you video, the notes are like 3 seconds long. This is flabbergasting. The only explanation I can see is the the VBL is called only 1/10th of the time...

MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

quick update -- I implemented an alternative playback for plus that does not use the sound driver and directly goes in the VIA and SoundBase. In the attached .dsk, there is a "MacFlim (Sound Test)" that plays a sound (not the flim one yet, just 3 tones so we can easily hear any issue) when...

MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

Sure, it is better having discussion where they can be indexed, and have no issue discussing here. However, it may take quite a long time as I have projects on mac, commodore pets, apple1, NeXT and a few others, so it is impossible for me to keep track (+ I am pretty bad at keeping track...

MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

Buggy sound can mean two things (well, and many more :-): a) the system not being fast enough for the movie encoding. b) the system is not using the proper playback timing. The canonical Mac Plus test file is "Sweet Dreams" (MacFlim2 was developed with that. It was not considered ready until...

Compiling MacFlim's flimmaker on ARM - Raspberry Pi?

Oh. If this is still the case, please enter an issue in github, I'll fix it for everyone! On github, the releases now include a ZIP file with a working windows binary, I look into adding an ARM one. You can track https://github.com/fstark/macflim/issues/52 for progress. Any question...

Compiling MacFlim's flimmaker on ARM - Raspberry Pi?

(author here) It absolutely is badly coded, and loads all the frames in memory. It is not suitable to make flims longer than around 3 minutes on my 32Gb machine. I have a branch where I work on getting the beast tamed, but it isn't as high priority as it probably should...

MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

It must work on any B&W 68k Mac, I tested from the original Mac 128K (using Mini MacFlim) and the Mac XL, to the Classic Color (the most recent one I have). If you find a B&W Mac that doesn't work, let me know in the discord. As far as Systems are concerned, it should work on *all* systems, that...

MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

(we haven't solved everything yet, but if anyone is wondering, the flim plays no problem on real hardware, the issue seems to be around Basilisk II and system 7.5)

MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

There are no change in the code itself. I worked into CICD through github, as the release process is *the* thing that prevent me to really add things to MacFlim. Also the lack of pre-compiled binaries for encoder makes enbording new users painful. My next challenge is to CICD the .dsk with the...

MacFlim - how can I prepare a video file for it?

Hi, I am fred, the author of macflim. Sorry you have issue with it, let's fix that. First www.macflim.com was the initial more joke release. It had even larger flim files, did not compress them and had no sound. The reaction here was so positive that I spent month doing the "real" one...

    Compact Mac Transcoded Video Idea

Hi, didn't realize someone was talking MacFlim over here! (I haven't been active here since the great crash, and I must confess being a bit bitter that all the great exchanges about MacFlim were lost. It is this forum users that convinced me to do the sound version and helped me on how to get...
