I tried the ROM patch but unfortunately that didn’t work either. I’m considering maybe trying the reduced ROM since I’ve heard that worked for some people. I swapped out the ROM chip for a bigger one to try the full ROM.
I recently flashed an ATI 9200 (as well as performed the resistor swap) to use in my Beige G3 Minitower. The machine is basically stock. I can get an image with the card even in safe mode but I’m not getting any acceleration. The problem seems to be that, on startup, I can see a red X through...
Yeah, I think I went about this backwards. It seems like I should install OS X to test and configure everything, and then try OS 9.
So do I just install this software or is there specific settings I need to select inside of it?
I just tried the drivers from here: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/radeon-9250-drivers-for-9-2-x.44365/ and got the same thing. I also tried the drivers from here: https://www.macintoshrepository.org/73857-radeon-7000-9250-driver-for-macos-7-6-9-2-2 and this one did even worse and...
Hello! I am trying to flash a 9250 128mb reference card for my Beige G3 Minitower running a relatively fresh install of 9.2.2. I have done the resistor mod, I flashed the bios with Tome's 9250 ROM from http://themacelite.wikidot.com/wikidownloads2, and I downloaded this...
They are mostly small little hooks and threads but I snapped a huge chunk of the rotation disk. That could have been avoided but the other stuff was just a side effect of taking it apart. Fortunately its hidden when I have it perfectly centered. I probably will try to glue stuff back at some...
I actually managed to figure it out. It's pretty straight forward. HOWEVER, I broke about 1000 pieces of plastic in the process. I'm pretty sure its the same plastic as a 6200CD. I have it literally taped together as well as plastic knives jammed in the angle department to keep it angled up...
So I have an 800k floppy drive from an SE that has been cleaned and lubed. From my experience, 400k disks work fine but 800k disks do not work about 70% of the time. When the disk is inserted I get the error that the disk is "damaged". So this leads me to believe that whatever triggers the drive...
Update: I just learned about connecting pin 9 and 10 on the power supply to check if it is working and I heard the click. So I am pretty sure that rules out it being a fault with the power supply
Update 2: I tested the chip that receives the button presses and while the machine is off it holds...
Yeah, I might go back through and double check that all the values are right, and then replace whichever caps aren't exact. Perhaps Console5 made an error. As for the daughter board and damage, none of the caps on either the daughter board or main board had leaked. That being said I still...
I recapped the daughter board and cleaned it as well as I can (tooth brush and IPA) but the caps did not leak. None of the caps had leaked on the daughter board or the main board..
Okay so the power supply was working before I recapped it. Then I recapped it and it was working again until it wasn't. Sometimes it wouldn't boot up. Pressing the power button would do nothing. Then when it does boot up it will work for a bit but then switch off. I used the console5 recap kit...
I want to try and take this thing apart to fix the picture issue, but I have no idea how to start. I was wondering if anyone had instructions on how to disassembly these.
