Thanks for all the replies. Not sure if it's worth doing and how much it will cost as I bought it for £50 off eBay and it got damaged in post due to lack of packaging (even though the seller claimed it had alot of packaging in it) but the seller gave me £20 back so I got it for £30 untested and...
I haven't yet re capped the board but would like to avoid it if possible. I replaced the PRAM battery with a new one yesterday and I usually leave it turned on at the switch. Any other suggestions? Will try unplugging and plugging in the logic board. Here's a video if you need it...
Hello.
I am having a problem where my colour classic when booting it up it sometimes doesn't chime and goes to a grey screen. Sometimes it will do other random stuff like play the crash sound but stay on the Grey screen. I tried cleaning the board (was filled with dust). That fixed it for a...
I got a colour classic today and I have some questions.
1) what would be best for playing basic games on it? A FPU, vram upgrade or ram upgrade?
2) any good games that I can run on it?
3) is there any way of getting a cheap HDD for more space?
Thanks.
Not the screen or cable. Tried it on a different power macintosh and it didn't do that.
also it looks like someone spilled coffee down the side of the power macintosh g3
It is not a all in one. Maybe it would be easier if i show you a picture of it.
P.S. I got given the power macintosh G3 and the other computers for free. When i picked them up they were in rough shape.
I was just wondering why this is happening. I think the flashing disk is a HDD problem as there are wired HDD sounds coming from it and I think the flashing screen is a GPU problem. Anyone know how I can repair this and get the original OS back on it.
Thanks.
Could it be because it has been in a cold place for a while?
Also sometime soon I have another one exactly like this one so hopefully the 2nd one is better.
Is this normal?
Thanks.
P.S: I have another Imac G3 coming so if the CRT is on its way out then I have another one coming.
EDIT: I am not sure if it was me hearing things or if it really did sizzle.
