Physically, yes. Functionally and electronically, no: the SE/30 is a 512x348 pixel, 1-bit, black-and-white only (not grayscale) monitor, driven by the compact Macs’ unique, non-VGA analog signaling. This monitor is a grayscale 800x600 VGA-signaled tube.
Has anyone gotten this monitor to sync at 1024x768? When I try 1024x768 @ 60 Hz from my Raspberry Pi B+ (w/Gert's VGA666) it looks like it’s displaying alright, just not synced horizontally (the full range of the H-sync adjustment doesn’t quite get it there). Would a different potentiometer...
Congrats on your third snowball! I recently picked one up for the wife & really don't want to part with it! (The brand new mini arriving soon might change that  )
There's definitely something . . . let's say "sexy" . . . about a first gen anything in factory condition &...
Funny, I too just got a 12" 1.5 GHz 512 MB PowerBook!
As these other chaps have said, the Al PBs are much more solidly built than the Tis. That said, however, I don't think I've seen a 12" Al PB (mine included) that didn't have some slight dents/bent metal around the edges of the bottom case...

I know the Classic's are a half-depth board, but I think I could remove/relocate the fan (a la...
Y'know, that's pretty much my exact line of thought regarding these old compacts. I was (am) looking for a decent SE/30 as my primary compact, but the Classic II was a great deal (at the time) & was always my second choice. I greatly prefer the look of the Classic/Classic II cases, but...
Sa-weet! I was a bit concerned when a trip through the dishwasher didn't clean up that corrosion much at all & didn't want to get it recapped if the corrosion is a fatal problem anyway. But it sounds like I'll be enlisting the aid of trag and/or phreakout!
Anyone else have more stories of...
BACKGROUND:
So I picked myself up a decent-condition, "not working" Classic II on eBay a month ago. The listing showed it powered on with the checkerboard screen, so I figured "hey, easy fix". When I got it, the screen wouldn't light at all, no chime, just the sound of the fan running. I pulled...
