OK, thats helpful thanks - and in terms of the actual Base Station? Are all Airport BS capable of supporting original airport card encryption under OS9?
I was wondering if there’s a recommended base station for running macs with original airport cards? I have quite a few but obviously can’t connect to modern WiFi due to authentication. I know I can use a bridge attached via Ethernet, but I want to use the original hardware and get rid of wires...
On this note, does anyone know which superdrive apple put in the MDD? I have the 2003 one that came with the CD-RW drive, and I want to upgrade to the DVD-RW superdrive to use iDVD. I know iDVD will not support 3rd party drives, so want to make sure I have the right make/model. Any advice...
Also, is it possible to install OS9 on one drive, and OSX on another drive for a dual boot set up? I want a larger than 120gb drive for the OSX one, hence this set up. Would I need to set both drives to master with the jumper settings, and press option on start up to select?
I have a dual 1.25ghz card from a non functioning machine ready to go into my single 1.25ghz machine, but I am reticent to do so, as I'm not sure how much of a real world performance bump it would give, and it will make everything quite a bit hotter/more power draw. I'd also like to know how...
I'd also like to know how much strain the extra CPU puts on the fragile power supply? I have a dual card ready to go into my single 1.25ghz machine, but I am reticent to do so, as I'm not sure how much of a real world performance bump it would give, and it will make everything quite a bit...
Yes, I used to have one back in the day as an edit machine. I would also prefer to do the ATX conversion for the noise, but I wouldn’t want to loose the ADC capability. Is there a way round this?
Ah yes, ok - I think would also feel the same about trying to fix the power supply! Sadly, I am in the UK and don't think there are any services for fixing these power supplies. I might have to wait about on here to see if anyone has a spare power supply they would like to sell.
Hello again,
I have just picked up a dead MDD Dual 1.25 2003 (bootable OS9, FireWire 400, etc) that I would like to get working. I am assuming the power supply is dead, as other components I have tested seem to be working fine. I was wondering if it is possible to repair the original power...
