Thanks all, I pulled both the sound and egret chips and found broken traces under. I appreciate it.

    No sound Classic II boards

Thanks, I didn't sway the chip rather just took it off and cleaned and reinstalled. I agree this chip almost never "goes bad" rather it is very dirty most of the time. Traces are my nemesis and I can never seem to track them down correctly as it is not in my skill set. +1 on the back side of...

    No sound Classic II boards

All, I have 4 Mac Classic II that I am working on. All have been recapped and run through ultrasonic cleaner. I have 1 fully functioning logic board. I have used that logic board to check all the other analog boards/speakers. All speakers/screens function with this board so I know it is a...

Mac SE FDHD freezes after 5 minutes

Update. Tried different peripherals and the board is working. This was the issue on all three boards. Funny thing is the peripherals worked with 800k. boards. At least it is solved. Thank you.

Mac SE FDHD freezes after 5 minutes

Same keyboard and mouse that I've been running with both boards. Yes, this is strange. I just got another FDHD to work on and this board acted the same way as the previous two that I pulled out of storage after having this issue. This is the first post I've made because I had not thought of...

Mac SE FDHD freezes after 5 minutes

I have three different SE FDHDs that I have been refurbishing over the years and noticed that they all suffer from the same problem. After successfully booting to desktop and running for a short time (5 - 10 minutes) they will all end up freezing with a person unable to move the mouse or use...

Mac 128k analog board recap, old C6 soldered with resistor

Hello all, I'm recapping three Mac 128k analog boards. I took the easy path and ordered the cap kits from Console 5. I am on the 2nd board and noticed that the old C6 (22uF 50V) cap has a resistor attached to it. The other two boards did not have the resistor attached and the old capacitor...

    Sad Mac 04919A

Thanks for all you help. I got both 128ks back up and running. Replaced all the chips (new are socketed) on the multiple failure board and a single one on the other. Now I have another project with a 040038 sad Mac code. I believe this to be a bad RAM chip at G7? If this is incorrect, I...

    Sad Mac 04919A

Hello all, I have two 128k boards that I’m working on. The first will bong on startup with SadMac 04919A. 04 = Memory Test-Mod3 test and identifies a bad chip or chips. A sub code of 000A sub code meaning is Line 1111 (I don’t understand what that means). Also, I don’t understand the...

Mac IIfx video card display lines

Hello all, I have a Mac IIfx that has been recapped with an Apple 630-4222/630-4230 high resolution display video card installed that has also been recapped. The computer runs fine. I am using an apple color plus 14” display (M1787) and getting vertical lines on the screen. I know the...

    Mac IIci replacement diode

Update one this. I actually found the tiny transistor in the bottom of the case. I soaked it in IPA, cleaned it up and soldered it back in place. Mac IIci is up and running again. Thank you community for all the information.
