In need of Lisa 2/10 troubleshooting advice

Slide out the card cage and reseat all of the cards and try again. Lisa is soft power on/off, not surprising it won’t power off if the computer never initializes.

    Lisa Video Board

If it happened after you changed caps, go back and check your work. Make sure the right caps are in the right place and not backwards. Also look for and cracked solder joints or solder bridges.

    Lisa AC interference coupling?

Thanks for this. Game changer on my 1.2A power supply. I recapped it and was still chirping on and off most of the time and when it did run the screen was squiggly. Swapping out the 2200uf to your high ripple current version solved both issues! And the PS runs quieter now too.

I also flipped the fan around. Doesn’t seem too loud to me. I haven’t taken temps yet and I’m out of town for a bit. Angling the fan sounds like a good idea, right now the fan blows up and hits the wall of the duct, not the best for flow.

    LC 475 Project - Upgrades - Mods

You’ll need a chip and tools/skills to do surface mount soldering. If you don’t change this IC, 33mhz is no problem. If you mod for 40 MHz, I found it actually only runs about 38 MHz with the stock MC88920. Any more likely needs the MC88916W80.

Interesting. I’ve put a 64mb simm in mine but still only reports at 36mb. How do you unlock higher capacity?

    LC 475 Project - Upgrades - Mods

LC 475 maxes out at 36 mb RAM. So no need to add more than a single 32mb EDO stick

Thanks guys! I also found setting my colors to B/W one of the desktop patterns ends up being white grid on black background!
