Slide out the card cage and reseat all of the cards and try again. Lisa is soft power on/off, not surprising it won’t power off if the computer never initializes.
If it happened after you changed caps, go back and check your work. Make sure the right caps are in the right place and not backwards.
Also look for and cracked solder joints or solder bridges.
Thanks for this. Game changer on my 1.2A power supply. I recapped it and was still chirping on and off most of the time and when it did run the screen was squiggly. Swapping out the 2200uf to your high ripple current version solved both issues! And the PS runs quieter now too.
I also flipped the fan around. Doesn’t seem too loud to me. I haven’t taken temps yet and I’m out of town for a bit.
Angling the fan sounds like a good idea, right now the fan blows up and hits the wall of the duct, not the best for flow.
You’ll need a chip and tools/skills to do surface mount soldering. If you don’t change this IC, 33mhz is no problem. If you mod for 40 MHz, I found it actually only runs about 38 MHz with the stock MC88920. Any more likely needs the MC88916W80.
