Wow thanks for that, I think you've nailed it. It's definitely on the power rail as the caps next to it have 24v across them and then it drops to 5v on the other side.

Wondering if anyone can identify this chip on my Powerbook G4 Titanium. I have a feeling it's failed as it's getting super hot as soon as I plug-in the power chord and the machine won't boot.

I followed your advice and tried my flux pen and dragging the iron across the pins. It was definitely much easier and quicker than the solder paste and heat gun I had been using.
