Trouble making a Printer Drivers disk

Hello,

First-time poster here... I am trying to make a floppy disk of the Stylewriter II drivers that I downloaded from Apple's support site. I only have a PC to connect to the internet and cannot connect with my Classic II.

When I uncompress the .sea files on my PC using Alladin Expander I get errors saying the binary is not in the expected format. Is this an issue because I am using a PC to uncompress?

I was wanting to use WinImage to make a Mac disk. This was the method that was recommended to me.

Any ideas? I'm anxious to get my nice Classic II and Stylewriter II communicating.

:)

Yes, don't decompress on your PC. Transfer the file to your Classic II and decompress it there. .sea is a self extracting archive, like an .exe file on a PC, it is a little application that unstuffs itself on your Mac. When you double click it, it simply expands without Aladdin, or anything else needed.

Thank you!

I just did it the easy way however and bought a set of disks and a manual. Everything is working perfectly now.

But, that info is helpful for the future. I didn't know it would self-extract. I thought I had to get some expander program for the mac.

Thanks again,

-Brian
