Maybe the coolest monitor probably never released for the Mac? Nexsys TarMac

Was watching old Computer Chronicles episodes, and this beauty showed up in their 1989 MacWorld special. It's the Nexsys TarMac Gas Plasma Display. It came in sizes up to THIRTY inches and included a touchscreen. With a price tag of $30,000 in 1989 dollars, I wonder if they ever sold any. I would love to see one in person. That huge orange plasma display is just gorgeous. The fact that it was designed to work with a Mac as a standalone monitor is just awesome. Nearly every gas plasma display I've seen has been integrated into a laptop or desktop portable, maybe a terminal here and there.

I can just imagine it connected to an SE/30 with a Radius FPD card.

Of course, the immediate feature right after it with RackMac and programmable, parallel computing controller card for automation is equally awesome. So much cool stuff in these old episodes. It's like a majestic (herd) of unicorn hardware that I'll never own, but otherwise can lust after.
