Mac Classic with Netware?

Sorry to highjack momentarily this thread (didn't think this post was big enough for a new thread)

I've recently acquired a Mac Classic, so I booted up to see what i came with. To my surprise there are quite a few network utilities. The most interesting of all is the netware one, which apparently allows the computer to connect to a netware server. Since the Classic has no expansion bay, it would have had to be done by some kind of external network card. However there are no drivers on it.

I'm just curious to know if netware servers worked with localtalk, since this seems to be the only way this machine could have been connected

Netware 3.x had a lot of Mac functionality (can't remember if that is true of the earlier NetWare 386) including AppleShare file and print serving and LocalTalk/Ethernet routing. The university for whom I work used NetWare for file serving to 1,000+ Macs in the 1990s. LocalTalk cards for servers were not unusual, but dedicated routers (FastPath, GatorBox etc) were a better option. There is some more related information at:
