LC 520 hardware issues

Hello people of 68kMLA,

I just got an LC 520 in pretty good condition. The logic board has been recapped, it has upgraded RAM, and a larger hard drive. I am having a couple issues with it, though:
  1. I took the back panel off to look at the motherboard, and now it won't go back on. It sounds like there's some metal or something preventing it from going on.
  2. I am unable to remove the CD ROM drive from the system to replace it, even when pushing up on the tab in the drive sled and pulling, it won't budge.
  3. The system fan in the rear of the machine isn't spinning at all during any point of operation (startup, running, or shutdown).
These are the only problems I'm having with the system, otherwise I am glad I got it, and the CRT and everything looks stable, no need for an analog board recap.

If anyone has solutions or tips for any of these issues, or needs any more information or details to fix the problems, please let me know so I can get it up and running for my workshop.

Peace

1. Sometimes those clips really don’t wanna go back in and it’s scary because they break, worst comes to worst shine a light in there and look for any blockage.

2.You really have to pull to pop those guys out, it’s easier to do one e you pop the back off, 4 torx screws and it comes right off and slides back on it’s much easier to get to what you are trying to do.

3.make sure the pins make contact with the board for the fan if not bend them otherwise we can always stick in a Noctua fan.
