I use Fetch for FTP on my Beige G3 (with a 10/100 Ethernet card) running OS9 Connecting to a Synology RS819. Works fine for accessing my backups! for security reasons, I created an account on the NAS that can only access the classic Mac shares, just in case somehow those credentials were...
I can second the OWC SSD/IDE adaper combo will work. I am also running Sorbet Leopard on it (although its not really the most usable OS for a mostly stock Cube, it sure is fun to see a more modern Mac OS interface) I did have a few issues, I had to reimage the drive a few times before it worked.
I know this is kind of an old thread, but I just wanted to share what the OWC drive linked above looks like in the Cube. I did the same thing as seen in the video with the one screw on the plastic slide, but the OWC drive while about as finicky to slot in correctly, the OWC sled fits much...
Yeah. It was advertised as working, but the seller took forever to ship it and when it finally arrived I was really busy so I hadn't had time to mess around with it. I have no ADC systems to test it on so I can't be sure what the issue is. What went bad on them?
Ok, so I've tried this thing out, and It doesn't work. I've tried hooking it up to two different iBook G4s and also a PC and the display will not power on. I played around with the different refresh rates and still nothing. Both iBooks are running Tiger, and the PC is running XP. Is there...
^^ and the spec calls for a 60W supply as well. That's why I think this is a bit overkill.
I found some 24v power supplies with a quick search but the smallest I saw was still double that at 120W. The wattage wouldn't overpower anything right? its over-volting the circuitry that does the damage...
I received this with a recent conquest of an Apple 15" Display. It also came with an Apple 205W Power Adapter P/N M5849. They appear physically compatible with each other, but the power adapter seems a bit over the top for such a small device (its over twice as big and easily 6 times the weight...
^^ Lol!
To clarify, the battery that lasts for 35 mins is the one that shows 64470 as the capacity. The one that shows 4000 actually lasts for about 3 1/2 hours.
I guess I'll try to find a replacement battery and hopefully be able to fix any damage to the older iBook. Thanks everyone!
I picked up an iBook a while ago that has recently shutting down randomly. Today I used coconut battery to check the charge on it. This is what came up
I received another iBook today from a recent conquest and I tested the battery that came with it and it tested at 4000 MaH. I popped the...
I just purchased another iBook G4 to replace the one I damaged 2 years ago. I tested it, and Software update ran perfectly fine and installed updates with no issues (Running Leopard). However, I swapped in the hard drive from my old hard drive (running Tiger) and now Software update won't work...
I don't remember the name math circus. All I remember is that it was around 1994 - 1995 when I played it. I think it was on some version of system 7 as at ease was running on the computer. It sucks, because internet searches come up with only virus protection as the results no mater what...
