Sorry, I am a newbie... when you say that I should wash it, do you mean in the dishwasher? Otherwise I would not be able to clean it without desoldering the chips, because the acid is underneath and around the leads of the chips.

Well, if the board is dead a washing wouldn't make it any harm and the caps cost just one buck, so... I can give it a try!!!
