I got some 2x256mb pc100 sdram chips recently, and they dont work with the iMac. They appear to be double-sided (chips on both sides). Is there an issue with double-sided sdram memory in a slot-loading iMac? Or..I'll have to try Single sided SDRAM (currently in).

Have one of my tray-load iMacs going now and have put a 40GB drive in to replace its' old 4GB. Drive has not been partitioned. Can't exactly boot into Mac OS :-/ - just hangs at Open Firmware. Was reading up on Lowendmac that the main drive partition has to have a under 8GB partition - is...

Received a 250MHz 604e processor a while back and have had no luck trying to get it to work with the 8500. :( Or am i stuck with going for a faster 604 processor (currently 132 mhz) only or a G3 upgrade card? Thanks
