Slaton are nice and responsive. Only thing I have with my SE/30 is that these new SIMMs are much thinner and rattle in the sockets (and therefore do not work, not even with the 3D printed retainers). But that is true for all the newer modules not just theirs.
Silicon Insider sold them but do not see them listed. Those are the purple ones. Maybe send a message.

Or slatoncomputers on Ebay.
Thanks! I’ll post a few screenshots of the settings panel in the Mac for reference.
I have a small scope, any way I could use it to test the signals on the port for valid video output?
As shared in the “marktplaats” topic a nice Quadra 700 came up for sale. Not super cheap but got a fair deal. Looks to be in great shape!
Keyboard and mouse are clean and working, I connected my dirty SE/30 gear to it 😂
Theee is an interesting card in the box. Not worth anything by the looks...
Really impressive what you’ve accomplished! Maybe one day I’ll try to build one!
Out of curiosity, would there be a technical limitation to get both the Ethernet and the MicroMac Performer (which also uses the SE slot) both in the same SE? As I’ve understood it so far the SE does not have real...
I would highly recommend getting a FloppyEmu. It’s not cheap but will allow you to use virtual floppy images and comes bundled with all of the system disks. You could use a virtual floppy or HD20 disk to store your work on flash memory (and backup elsewhere) instead of trusting your old Mac with...
I’ve browsed about a million tape drive ads on EBay but am not able to find any 20 / 40 QIC drives. If somebody knows the exact type used by Apple please share!
I have a few other tape drives and sure thing, they are challenging. I’ll Google a bit more for the tape drive model. Impressed with the mega noisy drive still running 😄
Drive is working. Funny enough the drive icon is an image of the unit with a tape in front. Wow… where does it get that from…
It’s a 20MB drive, I think a Connor. Still works like a charm after rusting away for two decades in storage.
Recently bought a Mac Classic that turned out to be seriously rotting inside. With help of an awesome Mac hero got it working again…
But it came with an external HD who was originally a tape drive. It now has a full height 3.5 drive installed that I still need to test.
Does anybody know what...
Awesome, that did it!
Expanded using Stuffit, moved the extension to Extensions and the application to Control Panels and immediately got a working timesync.
Maybe someone can put this one on MacintoshGarden as well for future fun?
Thanks. Tried that and moved the compact-pro file to the Mac, but no luck. Any chance I can pull the executable from somewhere else like an existing harddisk image, etc.?
Hi all,
I'm trying to get Tardis installed on my SE but no luck. The file does not have the correct resource info - even if I bring the ZIP file over, fix the type to PACT/CPCT and expand I get errors (file corrupt).
Must be something trivial, tips?
I think the pattern comes from the display chip reading from uninitialized video memory. How I remember it is that as soon as your hear the chime it means the CPU is running ROM code.
Glad you got it sorted! Enjoy the “second coming of your SE/30” !
Always great to see that someone wants to revive a classic computer. Kudo's!
Next to the repairs needed I'd vouch for replacing the harddisk with a flash-based solution. The drive (if still working) will die and take your script with it.
For day to day usage I'd recommend getting an external...

A nice zebra pattern on my screen, frozen right away. I've tried applying pressure to them while turning the system on (which is a bit more difficult with 4 compared to just pressing on 1 ROM), but not getting it right.
I suspect its contacts but it might also be an issue with my SE/30 (eg...
