Thank you for the suggestion. I may give them a shot. Yeah definitely try connecting the 2 sets to the opposite sides of the board. I was surprised when the opposite side came to life and the dark half moved. I was sure it was aging bulbs until I tried that.

I bit the bullet and ordered one off eBay for $40 with deep scratches on the LCD. That should make for a perfect candidate for a board swap, and now I'll have some spare parts if needed.

That's strange. The one I had was a beige looking generic power adapter. Definitely not a stock cube PSU. Maybe they changed it up in the later models?

I see this is an old thread, but for documentation's sake, you could get a Dr. Bott DVIator and the power supply plugs right in to the Cube and works fine. Unfortunately they aren't readily available to purchase any more. Amazon listing, no longer available but you can see the connector...
