I’m having a weird vertical linearity issue with my Lisa after replacing the potentiometers in both the PSU (the brightness and focus) and also the video board 5 pots. The tube has also been swapped but switching back to original does not fix it.
No amount of adjusting the vertical linearity...
What’s the best way to make Lisa disks? I had a hell of a time trying to make some working disks.
I thought the Apple Legacy CD images would work but they didn’t (threw unformatted disk error on the Lisa), I tried images from online but StuffIt kept throwing an error when they were unpacked...
I have a Rev A FloppyEmu that i've used since forever. However, i've been having a weird issue with it, namely that the screen stopped working properly recently. It displays a blank screen unless i'm flashing firmware or the SD card is missing. I've tried flashing the different firmwares. The...
What's the best balance of boot speed (since Macs check the entirety of the RAM or something like that before boot) and RAM amount for a Quadra 950?
I want to be able to download files from say, Mac Garden and Mac Rep, but I don't want to toss an entire 256MB kit in it and have it take a year...
Does anyone have the "CLD Access" program mentioned for Pioneer 6 disk changers? I can only find the ones that came with the later mac clones, which state to use "CLD Access."
The Quadra 950 I bought recently is missing the key. It’s already set to power on, but I’m wondering if I could replace the lock cylinder with another one so that I can customize the key.
Has anyone tried this?
I’ve been reading about overclocking my IIsi to 25mhz, but I’m wondering about the use of a riser card. I’ve heard that it works by some people, and that it didn’t work (and the mac had to be dropped to 22.5 or 23mhz) by one person. I’m curious on the experience by other people. My riser has a...
I’ve got one of those Macintosh 128K/Apple II/Lisa Apple Modem 1200s, but one thing that my modem didn’t come with was the DE-9 to DE-9 cable for the Macintosh 128K. I‘ve searched around but can’t seem to figure out the pinout to connect them together. Does anyone here have a cable that they can...
I have a 3400C coming in the mail with a barely alive battery, and want to know if there’s a way to rebuild them currently? If not, is there places where I can find NOS batteries that still work?
Are the motherboards from later AIO systems (5200, 5500, etc) compatible with the LC 580?
I know that the LC 520/550/575 don’t support it without heavy case modding and cable rewire (that’s why they work with CCs), but the LC 580 has a harness cable that looks similar to the later macs.
I...
I’ve got a UniMac 82D that I’m trying to turn into a Monochrome Radius Pivot cable. From what i’ve gathered, the Monochrome Radius Pivot has the sense pins of
ID1: no ground
ID2: ground
ID3: no ground
using this pinout...
A while back I thought of comparing various machines together to see which one would’ve been the better buy back then and now.
One of the machines on the comparison block is the Macintosh SE, which I’ll be comparing to a similar PC counterpart that was being sold roughly around the same time...
During my attempts to replace the battery on a Macintosh II, I came across this blown-apart mess on the board. The unit was still working (besides some video issue that I chalked up to my improper monitor), so I assumed whatever repair this was fixed that issue. However, while trying to figure...
Is there a way to force the fan to always be on? I believe my Sony CR-45 has a bad temp-control board and I'd rather have the fan be always on than deal with replacing the temp control board. I believe that shorting the thermocouple should fix that, but there might be another way.
I recently got an HD20 from a friend, along with a "CoolMac" and a Kensington Turbo Mouse. However, trying to test the HD20 resulted in it constantly trying to connect, failing to connect, asking to format, failing to format, then asking again to connect. The cable is somewhat frayed on the...
I'm wondering if there are any other solutions besides the FloppyEmu for HD20 emulation. While the FloppyEmu is nice, I'd rather not buy another one just to condemn it to the inside of a SCSI case. Are there any cheaper/no screen solutions, like the BlueSCSI?
