    Thank you so much for your reply. I think the next step is to find another vintage mac with a superdrive. I was hoping for miracle to appear, but I can't see of any other way either.. :-(

    I have a Mac Plus -- I have 3 working/booting floppies, one disk tools disk, one pre-6 disc & macpascal disk with system 5.. I have additionally a 30Mb external scsi, & zip drive with 2 zip disks. I tried formatting the 30mb NON-Apple ROM scsi as a Macintosh Volume with my NeXT...
