Overclock LC475/P475/Q605 without soldering or spicy-o-clock

All of the raw code talk has me wondering what the discussion is about. Are you adding more things that can be adjusted with the speed settings besides just CPU speed? Like keeping the SCSI controller chip from running so fast it freezes the machine? Or serial ports not functioning after a...

Centris 610: lost SCSI! Termination chip is hot...

When you connect an external drive are you ensuring there’s a terminated device inside the Mac on its internal SCSI bus connector? Either a terminator and ribbon cable or a drive that has termination (even if it’s unpowered)?

I need a 25 pin scsi to usb adapter for an old Zip Drive

I didn’t expand on my reason. A SCSI to USB converter is usually sold for around $150-250 depending on the market and the brand. Conversely, you can often find a USB ZIP drive for like $25-50.

I need a 25 pin scsi to usb adapter for an old Zip Drive

It would be easier and cheaper to source a USB Zip drive, or even an IDE Zip drive and USB to IDE converter.

Overclock LC475/P475/Q605 without soldering or spicy-o-clock

I haven’t tried this yet @Mustermann but what would happen on a resistor swapped board where it is set to 33mhz on the board?

Vintage OS application shows as text file

If you are downloading or transferring the application to / from a non-vintage MAC, it needs to be encoded before and during the move, or else it loses the resource forks, which are necessary on the Classic MAC side. So either the text file you refer to is an encoded file that needs decoding...

    Mac IIsi - No color

You open control panels, monitors control panel, and click options I believe it is, and you’ll be presented with a list of memory consumption and bit depth indication options. Choose the 8 bit color option and reboot.

When booted into MAC OS, what screen resolution is available to you in the monitors control panel?

    Mac IIsi - No color

IIsi has settings for how much memory to use for video. If the setting is set to only 1bit, you will only see the black and white option in monitors control panel. There is no "plug and play" regarding monitors, etc. They are simply dumb devices. The computer dictates the resolution and bit...

Color Classic Mystic Bomb Bus error problems booting

Your Mystic-upgraded Color Classic, is it running with a resistor mod that makes screen resolution the default CC one? I believe you have to use a modified system folder or enabler when you do that. Which might be what's on your internal hard drive, but not on the other installers you're trying.

    HyperCard Community?

If you're starting out with HyperCard, there is a vast XCMD collection made by F Rinaldi, some of which have been updated over time to support later Mac OS versions even. http://rinaldicollection.free.fr/ In case the site ever goes down in the future, I believe the set was uploaded to...

Archive A/UX hard drive from a IIfx

Oh, interesting! I wasn’t aware DiskCopy could do a device image. I’ve only ever used 6.3.3 as the highest version.
