Drive options for a Performa 550/575?

The only problem with stacking an adapter on an adapter would be the drive doesn't click into place in its little caddy thing. As long as it doesn't poke out the rear to the point where the door can't go back on it doesn't matter too much.

Drive options for a Performa 550/575?

Should something like this work? I don't know how cheaply I ought to be able to come by an older drive like this...

Drive options for a Performa 550/575?

Forgive me if this is lore already - what are my options for a replacement hard drive for a Performa 550/575? I seem to be limited by the funny plug adapter and caddy, and I'm not sure if any newer-style drives will work. A fellow who's eventually coming to swap a 575 for my 550 is bringing...

    Performa 550

They're on eBay for 15 to 30 dollars, just no guessing if they still work or not.

    Performa 550

Yellowing is no problem, I don't mind mixing up a batch of RetroBright. Next weekend would be good, I'm out for half of next week on business. If it has some extra RAM in it I'll give 8.1 a try, otherwise I'll go with 7.5.5. Do you happen to have a PDS Ethernet card that would fit this thing?

    Performa 550

I just picked up a Performa 550 off of Craigslist. They thought it was dead, but I helped them test it out (i.e. the power switch doesn't actually turn it on) and found out it just has a bad hard drive. I picked it up for $75 - too much? I dunno. I put in another drive and it boots up fine...

Particularly low voltage on a Classic II board

Well the filter caps are probably good on this one then. I didn't note much of any gain or drop between initially turning it on and after having warmed it up for 10-15 minutes or anything in between.

Particularly low voltage on a Classic II board

Hi guys, I've bugged some of you on IRC pending my account but figured I'd pick non-lurker's brains. And yes, I have Larry Pina's book on the way but I have no idea when I'll get it (Amazon used seller). Anyways, the analog board on a Classic II I picked up is putting out particularly low...
