I have an International Analogue board for the Classic II that I have had a lot of trouble-shooting problems with. I had noticed a spark around the switch when it is turned on. To get a good look at the area, I had to remove the steel chassis that wraps around the Analogue board. There was sum...
Thanks for the schematic. I had the Classic schematic, but not the Classic 2. I pulled out the flyback and inspected it and there is no sign of any heat damage. I'll work my way through the board and see if I can find any shorts or other issues.
Hi Iron, I have recapped the board and gone overboard and replaced all the caps, not just the usual suspects. I figure the problem is elsewhere on the board and not with the resistor itself.
I've now had two Mac Classic analogue board (updated version - 240v) where the 220 ohm resistor RL1 which is right next to the flyback transformer has started smoking and burning out. I haven't read about anyone else having this problem, but it's happened to me twice. Has anyone had this issue...
Hi, I'm trying to bring a dead 128k back to life. By swapping out components I've narrowed the problem down to the logic board which is now recapped and waiting for a new Egret chip. Apart from another 128k logic board, does anyone know where I can find one ?
Thanks, I removed, cleaned and re-soldered the Egret chip on both boards. Both still act exactly the same as before. It's a process of elimination and that's another one I can tick off.
Thanks, I've pulled out and put back in the RAM a couple of times and have two sets of RAM so I could try both. As you suggest I'll have to start going though other components one by one until it works. I had a couple of spare TDA4605's so replaced those but no luck. I think diodes and...
I am determined to build a working LC575 out of all the pieces I have. What do I have ? 2x CRT's and bodies incl HDD's, 2x Logic Boards, 3x Analogue Boards. I have recapped both Logic Boards, one of the Analogue Boards (big job) and ultrasonic cleaned with Isopropyl Alcohol rinse of all boards...
