I know it's a bit late, but I put a simliar ide2cf adapter in my 1400 and can easily boot a Transcend CF 133x 8GB card (I figured slower and smaller would make it easier to boot). I'd like to buy a 16GB card, but I'm worrying about it not being able to boot, as the same 1400 kept throwing up...
